I sit on my bed, dripped in sweat from fear. Rubbing the stained blood pn my hands around, knowing it'd go nowhere. I sigh in pain, and let the tears fall.
What was happening to me?
I had no idea what happened before this. All Ii got was that it was just a dream, by my parents. That wasn't a dream. They're back, which meant......Meds.
I tried to dust this strange episode off, but it didn't seem....human. But, I know that if I looked into this too much, t's consume me.
So, I get up from my bed, take off my clothes, and hop in the shower. And stare at my ceiling until morning, knowing that I had to go to school after this.
-------------------
The next day I ditched. I got a text-not from Gabe, but Monroe.
Gabe was wrong. Even though he convinced people at school of my disloyalty, Monroe felt proud of the house shootout, even though it wasn't me. This meant, I was on the borderline of survival. Which meant......
I could look for Beth.
I spent any chance I could looking for her in the armory, or getting answers from Gerald's men. But, I think I was leading into it too soon. The more people that joined this side, the harder it was to slip up. One slip and they'd call me a traitor again, or worse.
But, that warning, from Lydia didn't go unattended. I began plotting to go to the hospital. With this warning, I would save Beth.
I had stayed at the armory all night, doing simple task, helping new comers. Truthfully,. it was sickening. Most of these kids were from school, and some were their parents. But, I had to play a role, if that meant saving Beth.
Soon everyone was called to a meeting. That's where Monroe introduced us to a former alpha twin, Ethan. He could morph into a super alpha, but not anymore. His twin brother died.
Monroe told us his weaknesses, and his advantages against humans. All while he was tied to metal, soaked in water, and fed electricity through his body. I could barely look, let alone listen to the yelps that came out of him.
I just hope this didn't happen to Beth.
Then she singles me out, and forces a noble title to my name, knowing it didn't belong to me. This felt like another test, and deep down I knew that if I turned my back on her again.....she's stab me in the back.
So, I pretend I did what she wanted. Which meant carrying Ethan into a secluded area, drained. He didn't say much, but when he did he kept mentioning "Jackson"
His tone of voice gave it away that, he loved him.
As I hold the arrow that Monroe had stabbed him with I can smell his......blood. And I couldn't smell fear, I smelled sadness.
I had to find Beth no matter what it took.
--------------------------------------------
Time passed and Monroe called me out, to talk to me alone. She talked to me as if she knew, that I knew something. SOmething that I was keeping from her.
"Nolan, you've done well, so far." She says, and feeling panicked I nod.
"Oh, calm down Nolan I'm congratulating you." She says again, which causes me to nervously gulp.
"That guy, Ethan. W-What are you going to do with him?" I ask her, and she raises an eyebrow.
"Well, kill him eventually. We only need to keep one of them alive." She explains. I fearfully nod.
"Nolan, I want to ask you something." Monroe says, and I look up at her.
"Uh, who's Beth?" She says, and I feel my entire body panic.
"No one." I quickly respond, before looking down. She chuckles before smiling.
"Nolan, I know. She's a friends of yours, that's fine." Monroe says and I squeeze my hands.
"No, I-I was using her to get to....to get to her cousin." I lie. "Jigang?" Monroe asked, and surprised I nod.
"And you did well, he's dead now." She exclaims and I nod before looking down.
"Where's she?" I ask now, not hiding the fact that I care.
"Hospital. That's where we're keeping a lot of no-threats, underage supernaturals." She says, and I exhale.
"Alive?" I ask.
"Of course Nolan. It's the intensive care unit....I'll some hunters to go take you down there to see her." She says, and shake my head.
"No, she doesn't mean anything, I just wanted to-dispose of her myself. Make you proud and all." I say, and she smiles again.
"Nolan, it's okay. You've done well....you know, well enough to get her back. Beth, wasn't it? You can have her all to yourself. If you do one little thing for me." She says, and I nod.
"Kill Liam." She says, before plotting a cynical grin over her face.
--------------------------------------------
The next day, I walk into to school with odd stares coming from both sides again.
And when I walked into the library, they worsened. But, there was only one reason for coming into this library anyway.
"So, you do want to get the shit beat out of you?" Asked................
