Heichou Loves Me?!

Chapter Seven: Hope

The titans started darting towards everyone. No one had gear except for back up people. Levi and Eren stare as they started to devour everyone.
Eren bites his hand, in hope that his powers would work. But they didn't. He desperately tries again and again, his hand dripping with blood.

Levi's POV

I turned towards Eren, fear in his eyes as he stared at his hand.
"Eren!"
His head sharply turn towards me.
"You need to get out of here!"
"Levi, I can't leave y-"
"Please!"
I grab both of his shoulder, staring into his eyes.
Erwin stepped in behind us.
"You're not going anywhere until you're officially married. Levi, you and Eren need to get out of here! I don't have a chance!"
He glances at his missing arm, then back at us.
"Levi, do take Eren as your loving husband?"
As he said that, Erwin was grabbed by a 4-meter titan. He struggles as he continues to talk.
"I do!"
"And Eren, do you take Levi as your loving husband?"
"I..I do!"
I took Eren's hand, stepping back a bit.
"I now pronounce you, man...and husband.. nng"
At this point, his legs were being nawed on as half of his body was in the titan.
I pull Eren down quickly, kissing him lovingly. I poured all my love into that kiss, hoping it's not our last.
"Now get out of here! Now!"
Parting from Eren, looking back at Erwin, I stare in horror as he's swallowed alive, screaming as he falls down the titan's throat.
Gripping Erens hand, I start to run off towards the stables, jumping on to Carl (my horse). I pull Eren up and start to ride off, staring ahead of us.
"Don't look back Eren..."
I could hear him sniffling and crying. His arms wrap around my stomach as he layed his head on my back, his crying calming down as the minutes passed. We didn't stop at all. We just kept riding further and further.
It was night now, and all the destruction was miles and miles behind us.
We chose a stopping point to rest in a small forest, the trees smaller than before. After tying my horse up, I sat next to Eren,  who was sitting in the dirt with his knees pulled up to his chest.
"This isn't how I thought the happiest day of my life would be..."
"I know. But, we've had worse days...right?.."
I scoot closer, grabbing his hand. He was shaking, and not from being cold.
"I hope...at least some people made it out..."
"I'm sure there are some survivors. Don't worry about it."
"But...some of them were my friends, so I have the right to worry, you know? There's Armin, Hanji, and even Jean..."
"I said don't worry about it! Just..get some sleep. I'll keep watch."
As I looked torwards him, tears were steaming down his face. I walk to him, grabbing his chin. I wipe his tears.
"Don't cry...please...It'll be ok."
I lean up and lightly kiss him, then I pull back, letting his head.
"Get some sleep..."
"I'm not tired...I'm staying up with you."
"Fine..."
We stare off into the fields, wind blowing through the tall grass and flowers.
"Hey Levi...why didn't my titan powers work?"
"How am I supposed to know?"
"Well...something held me back...I don't know what."
"Don't stress on it. Don't think about anything right now."
He stayed silent after that. I layed back down on the ground, staring at the night sky. Eren fell back next to me, doing the same.
As we stared up at the stars, a shooting star passes by.
"Make a wish Levi..."
I glance over at him, then look back at the sky. 'A wish huh...alright...'
I thought about it for a second, then chose my wish. I wish that me and Eren could finally settle down and relax in our own house. We could live our lives without worrying about titans every second. That's my wish.
I grabbed his hand, wondering if he wished the same.

The night flies by, the two eventually fall asleep together. The sunlight peering through the trees shown brightly upon them, waking them up.
As they sat up, two white doves flown past them, dropping two feathers. Levi stares at the birds then down at the feathers, smiling to himself, knowing his friends are with him as well.

Eren's POV

I stood up, shaking the dirt out of my hair. As I look over at Levi, he staring at two white feathers on the ground.
"Levi?"
He looks at me, slowly walks over to me and layed his head on my shoulder, wrapping his arms around me. I softly hug him back, rubbing my hand up and down his back.
I smile as he kisses my neck, kissing his forehead in return.
"I love you."
"I love you too..."
He doesn't let go at all, so I let him stay there.
A few minutes passed, and he still didn't let go. Suddenly, we heard a flare shot. As we both looked towards the sound, we could see a faint yellow color of the flare.
"Some of them are still alive! Come on!"
I pull Levi to his horse, both of us hopped on and started to ride towards the flare shot. We ride out of the forest and eventually see two other horses. As we got closer, I could make out the faces. Armin, Hanji, Mikasa, and Jean. I was relieved to see that they're ok. I jumped off the horse, helping Levi down as well.
"Are you guys ok? What the hell happened??"
I go closer to Armin and Jean, letting go of Levi.
Armin jumps off his horse and walks towards me.
"A lot of them died...we eventually escape. A few others escaped as well, but they went the other way to tell the king. We were just going to go look for you guys."
"Well...I'm glad your all ok."
I glance over at Levi and grab his hand again, feeling the cold ring on his finger. Jean hopped off his horse and walked next to Armin.
"So...where do we go now?"
"I don't know-"
"We keep going. We just keep riding. Pretty much, the entire scouts brigade is eaten. The only hope we have is going into town, and going past that."
I look at Levi, his eyes flashing a hint of blue.
"Levi...what are you saying?"
"What was it you guys were saying? The outside world? Well...that's where we're going. Right now."
He lets go of my hand and gets back on his horse.
"Wait, are you serious??"
We don't move, we just stare at him, thinking this idea is just ridiculous.
"I'm serious, come on Eren."
I smile and jump on his horse. Armin and Jean get on theirs, and Mikasa and Hanji get on theirs.
"Follow me closely, we're not taking any stops! We're getting the freedom we finally deserve!"
With that, he rides off, with everyone else cheering and whooping behind him as they follow.
