A trait, that Mal could definitely say that she got from her mother was the temper. And lately she felt like a volcano about to erupt, and she needed a safe way to express it.

Back on the Isle, Mal never had to hide or suppress her anger or frustration. She would either terrorize people or spar with Jay. It was an outlet for her. Here in Auradon, she couldn't exactly do that, well at least terrorize people. That's why she was now in the sparring center, where the swords and shields tryouts would be held next week, and Jay was getting some swords from the back room, seeing as they didn't have their own here.

When he came back, he tossed her one, then crouched into position,"Ready?" Mal nodded slightly, Jay was quick to make the first move.
He slashed at her abdomen, but Mal moved out of the way, and moved forward to strike. Jay parried, and took a few steps back, to make room in between them. The son of Jafar then raised his word for a blow from above , and the daughter of Maleficent raised her sword to block. However, The former thief was relentless, he pulled back, only to strike again. Mal did a flip, and tried to create distance between. When he got close again, she released an onslaught of attacks, pausing to back away. Jay lunged forward, and Mal struck her sword against his.

Twenty minutes later, Jay had Mal's sword in both hands., and Mal was on the ground, propped up by her elbows. The girl yielded,"Thanks for sparring with me Jay." The brown eyed boy waved it off,"It's nothing Mal, we used to do this all the time."

He sat down one of the barrier/obstacles, and Mal sat down next to him. She didn't say anything yet, and neither did he. Her hands were fidgeting in her lap, and Jay grabbed her left hand, which stilled immediately. It was out of instinct really.

The tourney player remembered when they would sit on rooftops, just the two of them, watching over the Isle. After her breakup with Hook especially. She would lean her head on his shoulder, then put her hand in his.

Jay linked their fingers together, Mal instinctively leaned her head on his shoulder. He felt the callouses on her pale hands, which were just as roughed up as his were.

"How are you Mal? Honestly." He asked after a moment of silence.

She hesitated,"I-I don't know. Lately I've been so angry and confused. Plus Ben just seems so oblivious to everything, and you know he keeps pestering about Isle life. Ever since breakfast yesterday. He keeps asking, and I just don't want to talk about it." Mal inhaled then exhaled,"The Isle isn't an experience shared by words. It's something you have to be there for."

Jay's grip on her fingers tightened, and he whispered in a hoarse voice, as if he had been yelling all night,"I miss this Mal. I miss you. Before Evie and Carlos came we used to be partners in crime, and I love Evie and Carlos, but I miss our moments together."

Mal closed her eyes and savored the moment they were in.

Harry Hook, had decided that life here wasn't that bad. There was an abundance of food, and the only downside to his situation, was all of the new people he was surrounded by. While the girls were definitely pretty, there personalities were definitely not.

His mate, Gil was walking next him, and was incapable of hiding his feelings. He was fascinated by the place around him, and to be honest, Harry was too, but he knew how to hide it well.

Another thing that fascinated it at the least intrigued him was Mal, daughter of Maleficent. He expected a prissy princess, without a backbone or at least one that played the part. After all, she was supposed to be the future queen of Auradon. Then when she finally gets to see his ex, she still has purple hair, just a different shade, but she still wears her leather outfit.

Another thing thar stayed the same was Jay's protectiveness of her. He remembered when he and Mal first got together, Jay was always nearby, making sure that Mal was safe. Or was clear to him, that Jay was in love with his best friend. And when she dumped him, he for sure thought that they'd get together, but as far as he knew, they never did.

Gil pulled him to a nearby café, called Cindy's Café. The place contained maybe a dozen students, who were all chatting amongst themselves. Just looking at them made Harry feel like an outsider. The blonde son of Gaston took one look at the menu that was definitely different than the ones on the Isle, and asked,"Can we get some?"

Harry resisted the urge to smack the bloody idiot,"We can't. We've got no money to pay for it." He was about to tug them out of the café when a tentative Doug spoke up,"Here, I can pay for you. What'd you want."

Gil looked at the menu, "What's good?" Doug points at the menu, personally, I prefer the Golden Flower Frappe or if I want a hot drink then hot chocolate." Harry didn't exactly trust the lad, but he recognized him as one of the people they sat with yesterday during breakfast.

While Gil was still deciding, Harry had just picked one of the two drinks that the new fellow had said,"I'll have the hot chocolate." Doug's eyes widened marginally, as if he forgot that Harry was there. "Okay, Gil? Do you also want a hot chocolate?" The son of Gaston nodded,"Yeah I'll have the same as him."

The barista typed their orders in, and then asked,"Is there anything else I can get you?"

Doug raised a finger,"Uh I'll have another hot chocolate, and an Evie's usual."

The barista smiled,"Alright. It'll be done in a second." When the drinks finally came, it was also accompanied by a weird small brown paper bag.

Evie's boyfriends then gave Harry and Gil their drinks before saying goodbye. Thy sipped their drinks, thought that just maybe it wasn't so bad in Auradon.

After sparring with Jay, Mal went to get some schoolwork from her locker. That's when a certain king came up up from behind and surprised her.

"Hey Mal."

The girl jumped, startled, then turned around,"Oh Ben, you scared me." He chuckled awkwardly. "Yeah well I was just swinging by, and I was thinking the two of us could go watch a movie or something. I mean we haven't been able to spend that much time together lately.

Mal fidgeted,"I-I... okay." She plastered a fake smile on, "When?" Ben smiled, not noticing his girlfriends wary behavior, "Tomorrow at 6. I'll pick you up at your dorm."

A ping sounded, and Ben pulled his phone out of his pocket then sighed after reading the message. "I have to get to a meeting. But I'll see you later." He leaned down, and pecked her on the lips. It felt completely wrong, like she shouldn't do it.

Mal was scared because she had made up her mind. She knew now that she wouldn't get her happy ending with Ben. The problem was how she was going to break it to him, and what will happen afterwards.
