The Gray Eyed ( Demi-god themed)

Chapter Six

We dashed through the forest dodging trees, rocks, bushes, etc. When we finally stopped the captain , Mason divided us up into groups. " We will be putting the flag into Zeus'  fist. You all know you jobs."

He stared right Audrey and I.

Audrey." he said," remember."

She  nodded in approval. " Head out!" Mason yelled.

I kept wondering what he meant the other campers had puzzled faces as well.  Before I could ask what they were talking about Audrey whisked me away. " What was that about?" I asked.

" I have charm speak." She said.

" Is that a language... or..."

" No. It's a---Get down!"

She clamped her hand on my mouth and shoved me down. She looked around cautiously. " Stay here!" she whispered,  " And if I don't come back scream for help." Then she zipped off like a gazelle." Thanks for explaining things." I grumbled. I sat down and waited.

After what seemed like four minutes a flash of white appeared. But as soon as it showed it vanished. I knew I should stay but my curiosity took over. I stood up a jogged towards the direction in where the flash came from. Pretty soon I came to a paradise grove. The sun peeked through the opening of the trees above me. A perfectly round pool of water was at my left. Flowers blossomed every where, even my favorite, Blue bonnets. I stared at the flower in disbelief.              " They only grow in Texas." I thought. I lay down in the meadow of blue bonnets. The sweet smell filling the air.

Then in the single ray of Sun light a white horse appeared. I sat up. Wait no, not horse. The creature had wings and a horn like a mix of a unicorn and a pegasus. I was to stunned to speak or move. The creature moved with unbelievable grace towards me. It Sat down and lay it's head upon my lap. I had always wanted a horse. I was stroking it's mane when suddenly there was a big CRACK. We jolted up looking into the woods, the unicorn/pegasus stared at me intently as if to warn me. Then he turned sideways and pointed to his back." Oh, so you want me to ride.".

So I got on a rock and mounted him. As soon as I got on a huge,black, hairy bull charged out of the bushes. The pegicorn dashed away just as fast. He was pretty fast but the bull was faster. I looked around at the weapons I had been given. "Perfecto" I thought, "a sword!". I raised my sword and threw. It hit it right on the snout and then the bull disintegrated. I thought: Woo-Hoo! I kill one monster on my first week of training! I'm doing good.  I kept riding until I saw a shining red flag hanging from a tree. I looked around me to see if anyone was there. There seemed to be about one or two of the toughest people I've ever seen.

"Ares kids." I thought, " I totally can't fight them."  But then I saw something bronze glint in the light. " Stay here." I told my horse. I jogged over to a bent tree and saw Audrey. She was crouching behind a bush. " Hey!" I whispered. She nearly jumped two feet in the air. " What on earth are you doing here!" She replied.

I shrugged," I got ambushed.  She scowled and went back to studying the guards. In an instant I knew they're weakness. "  They're putting to much posture into they're upper body so a swish at the legs would knock them over almost immediately." I said. " How the heck did you know that?" she asked.

"Simple physics." I replied.

She pointed at the tilted tree. "Do you think we can  use the tree to get up to the flag?"

" That's what I was planning." I replied.

I whispered to her the plan. She nods in agreement.

"OK." I said," Lets get started!"

Audrey dashed over to the guards and yelled, " Ρίχνετε τα όπλα !" 

For some reason I understood perfectly. She had yelled Put down your weapons. The guards unwillingly dropped their weapons, but not their defenses. Ugly number one threw his shield Captain America style at her face. Thank goodness she was fast because if she wasn't she would have been dead meat.

She kept dodging and fighting to keep them distracted while I climbed the tree. I was almost there when an arrow nicked my ear. It sent a tingle through out my body. I looked left and there was......... Lauryn! She put a finger to her lips and advanced behind Ares kids to help Audrey. I grabbed the shaft of the arrow to help me up. The red flag shimmered in front of me.I quickly grabbed it and to my surprise it turned stormy gray. I jumped down the tree and ran. I grabbed the pegicorn's mane and pulled him along with me. Together we zipped across the creek and back into home territory.

"End of game!" shouted Mason, " The blues have won!" Everyone lifted me up and waved the flag. Then everyone stopped. They had finally realized why the flag was now gray. They put me down and kneeled. " Hail, Paige Dibble! Daughter of Athena!" A bronze knife appeared in my hand. It was a foot long. We all having a great time until Austin yelled, " HELP! SOMEONE, PLEASE!"

I had forgotten that Austin was not with us. I mounted Conquest (the pegicorn) and rode him towards the sound of Austin's voice. Andy lay down with his head on a rock. His skin was clammy and covered in cuts. Austin was over him trying hard not to cry. He looked up at me and said, " He's lost his mind."

I had no idea what he was talking about until Andy jumped up and yelled,"Hello, mate!" with a crazy grin on hisface. He looked at Conquest. " Ooooooh! Pony!" he squealed with delight.

" Oh,...um... you want to ride him?" I asked. He nodded as he stood up on a rock and mounted. Austin just mumbled," I'll just walk to save your horse some weight." I nodded and flew away.

" CAUSE I'M BRITISH!" Andy yelled as I pushed him through the big house doors.

"What's the matter?" Chiron asked.

"I have no idea what happened to him but he has lost his mind. You also may want to see what I found."

I opened the door wile Andy was having a serious conversation about party's with Mr.D. When Chiron saw Conquest his face lit up. " You truly are a gifted daughter of Athena." he said, " Pegicorns are one of the most rare indeed. They only appear to the one they deem worthy." He looked at me. We may be able to use the shavings of his horn to heal Andy's madness."

I gave him my knife and talked to Conquest wile Chiron shaved his horn. " What's his name?" Chiron asked.

" Conquest." I replied.

" You should get some sleep now in the big house. If Conquest has chosen you, we have much to discuss."

I walked up the stairs and plopped down on a bed. As soon as I shut my eyes I was asleep.
