Bring me comfort.
A lonely man staggered silently through dimly light corridors, his dulled eyes half lidded as he lost himself within his thoughts, tired lines casting blue shadows over his face.
He was stressed, dealing with Keith's attitude and Lances loud mouth added to the massive threat they are reckened to face practically everyday, finally started to wear the man down. Shiro sighed, stretching his Mechanical Galra Prosthetic, he was thankful he didnt need to worry about Hunk or Pidge, besides the usual motion sickness and forgetting to eat for being far too caught up in advancing the technology.
He rounded a corner before a distant noise settled its way to his ears. The black paladin found himself searching for the faded noise, his footsteps gentle on the blue shinning floors.
His head ached with a sudden pang of hesitation. This was crossing a line on privacy, that much he knew.
So why was he doing it anyways?
As if being pulled in, Shiro slowly creeped up to the cracked door, showing off too bright lights from the night-mode of the castle he had gotten used too. The black paladin managed to look through the doors, realizing these were the same ones that lance and Keith broke during their fight.
Inside was blanketed with purple shades, outlining a thin figure in the furthest middle, who seemed to be humming a unfamiliar melody; must have been a song the recent planet they recovered used.
He didnt think that anyone else would be up at this time.
Stepping into the room stealthily, he glanced around the mass of the room he now recognized as the observation deck. Shiro stared at the back of the other person who sat on the floor, right infront of the couch. Why they didnt just sit on the welcoming bench, he couldnt understand.
"Cant sleep?"
The words slipped from his mouth before he could help it, but the reaction of the other was almost comical. Their limbs flared up as they scattered to stand, shiro could hear their alarmed breathing.
"Oh- oh my god Shiro, what the cheese man? You scared my bones right outta me."
The high sound of the others shaken, but soft voice had him laughing whole-heartedly, realizing he just scared blue's pilot.
"Sorry, though you might want to get those bones back before they run off too far." The black paladin looked into what he guessed was lances eyes with amusement clear in his own voice.
"Wait- i think thats them over there," The cuban lifted his hand to his face, as if trying to view something from the distance. "Nevermind i lied, thats definitely not my gorgeous bones."
Shiro could just feel the smirk on lance, though it was mirrored on his own face at the terrible joke the duo had made. Shaking his head to get rid of the rest of the other lame jokes he could have started, he walked forward a few steps.
"Mind if i sit with you?" The larger man smiled- at least what he hoped was a smile.
He didn't want to be alone.
Lances blurred nod was enough for him to understand. Sitting down, a seat away from the blue paladin, but angled himself so he cound actually see the boys expressions.
Now he kind of wished he didnt as the air was taken from his lungs with a strong force, as if he was being punished for looking at someone so beautiful as lance was in that moment.
Tan skin was practically- is glowing and the freckles that seemed to dance happily across naturally blushed cheeks, showing off that they existed proudly. But what really caught him was the others eyes.
Shiro always knew that the cuban boys eyes were exotic, with the way bright blues and greens were shaded over even brighter blues, and the gold flecks that always reminded him of buried treasure in the deep Seas.
He had nearly forgotten what was going on until a sweet voice pulled him back into reality.
"So i guess you couldnt sleep either?" Though the question was simple, it was enough to spark the conversation.
"No, i had tried with the training bots, but there had only been two left," Shiro thought back into the early events, where pidge and hunk finished making a few enhancements on Keiths weapon, the boy seemed like he was on rampage as he keep trying out the new techniques. With a grimace, he thought that if Coran didnt enter the training deck when he did, all of the bots would have been severely damaged beyond repair.
"Yeah, i get you man. I tried a few dancing routines and even took a shower, though it didnt work in the end." Lance spoke up with a shrug, before getting up and actually sitting on the cooled cushions.
Lance was a few feet away, but shiro could still feel the boys warmth from where he sat.
"Ah, what type of dancing do you do? Ive seen some of your moves when we complete a mission."
Lances eyes lit up more- if that were possible. A large grin took over his face, showing off the perfectly straight teeth he had as he talked all about his dance classes that he took as a child, and how he never grow out of it, even when his sisters did.
Shiro swore that smile made the sun jealous.
