Pulling on a pair of jeans and a white tank top, I felt like my normal self. At least as back to normal as I could get. For some reason, I remembered everything that happened but didn't feel disgusted with myself. Maybe there was something wrong with me. As far as I know, when someone is claimed they don't go around making out with everyone. Maybe I was defected.
Clearing my mind, I reached for the phone on my side table. Somehow, I ended back in my room last night, but Isaac wasn't next to me when I woke up. So it didn't matter, he had respected my wishes of staying out of my room. Sure I was still upset with him, even though he made love to me last night, but he had deliberately taken away my memory. I couldn't quite say I was in love with him anymore because I still had strong feelings for Jacob.
What a mess. Before I met either of them, I had never been physically attracted to anyone, now I'm off making out with any Sekhmetian I meet. I dialed downstairs for Eli, so he could come unlock my door, that I still didn't know how to open. Instantly the door unlocked and Eli stepped inside.
"Is that all your bringing, madam?"
All I held in my hand was a brush and that was just to brush out my hair. I took a hair tie and tied up my hair before answering.
"No, I'm not bringing the brush," I said as I set the brush down, "This isn't mine to take."
"Madam, sir Isaac has bought all of these items for you. It is yours to take, if you wish."
It was shocking to know that Isaac spent so much money on me. I couldn't help but wonder if he did it because he truly loved me or thought I could be bought with materialistic things.
"Eli, I don't want to take anything. Can we leave now?"
"Yes, madam. Right this way," he bowed at the waist while holding the door open.
Once I walked into the hall, I felt like a complete bitch. Everyone was standing in front of their doors with their arms crossed over their chest. The first one, closest to me, was Delorn. He had a somber look on his face that he tried to twist into a scowl but it wasn't working.
I gave him a sad smile before leaning over on my tiptoes to kiss his cheek. As I backed away a light seemed to spread over his cheek, where my lips had been. The somber look disappeared and a slight smile, barely noticeable, replace it.
I squeezed his arm and said, "You take care of yourself, Delorn. And stop being so grumpy, you look sexier when you smile."
It had been so quiet in the hall, that I almost forgot about everyone else, until they began to laugh. I looked around at everyone and couldn't help but think, I was home, that this was home. But my home wasn't here, was it? My family was back in Fort Bragg.
Everyone I passed was given a kiss from me as I said goodbye. Until I came up to Isaac, who was standing in front of the staircase, waiting for me. I had planned on ignoring him as I left, but I couldn't. He had stolen a piece of my heart. I stopped in front of him and looked up into his now black eyes. Before I could say anything he asked, "Why are you leaving, Theodosia?" You seem to love all of us here and we haven't forced you to do anything. Okay, I know I shouldn't have sent Gregory to get you and that was a big mistake. But I fixed it, none of us would ever hurt you. You have to believe me."
Tears began to form in my eyes and all I could do was give Isaac a little smile and lightly press my lips against his sensual mouth while caressing his face.
"Goodbye, Isaac. I'm going home to my family."
"You have a family here. If you ever choose to return."
"Thank you, Isaac," I responded as I tiptoed up to his level and brought his face down to mine.
This kiss was more fierce than the soft one we had just had but I had a strong feeling that I was going to miss him. His tongue entered my mouth as if to claim me as his own, and I couldn't help but allow him to. His hands were pushing against my lower back, to bring me closer to him and his broad, hard chest. Reluctantly, I broke the kiss and stroked his face one last time before I headed down the stairs with Eli and out the front double doors.
