Your POV

Today is my 17th birthday! I'm going out to the drive in movies with a bunch of my friends as they thought it would be fun. They think it would be good for my love-life whatever that means. They think I'm just the awkward third wheel...which I sorta am. But I don't care. If something happens in my love-life well then great but I'd rather focus on my grades at the moment and not be like them and almost fail classes. They all call me a nerd and a geek but do I really care? Nah.

I was walking down the stairs in my house that I share with my younger sister, Ruby and my mum. my father always seems to be out of the house. He says he goes on businesses trips but I highly doubt that.

"Mum!" I shouted as I entered the hallway. "Yes?" She shouted back. "I'm going now, bye!" I yelled and walked up to the front door. "Okay have fun girly. Geta boyfriend this-""OKAY MUM!" I blushed and chuckled as I walked out the house. Gosh, even my own mother thinks I need to spice up my love-life.

I walked down the path in front of the house and saw the car filled with my friends. All I could here was the beautiful nature sound being ruined by the stupid loud basses of pop music.

The drivers window rolled down and revealed my friend, Chloe. Chloe is probably one of the most stupidest friends I could ever have but I don't care, she's my friend.

"Hey gurllll happy birthday!" She climbed out the car and gave me a huge hug. "Thanks" I replied, trying to escape her grasp. She finally let go of me and hopped back in the car. I hopped in and sat next to my other friend, Jessie, in the back. Jessie is quite responsible but she can be a handful sometimes. Even though she is under the legal age, she drinks when her parents aren't in town and has these crazy parties. I usually get made to go but I don't drink.

"Happy birthday y/n!" Jessie side hugged me as the car jolted forward. "Lets go find you a man!" Jessie laughed. At this very point I realised that Jessie had a red drink cup half full of alcohol."your parents outta town?" I pointed towards the cup. "no?" She answered. I frowned then looked out the window. "Well tonight should be fun!" Chloe said from the drivers seat. "Yeah!" Jessie and I said in unison.

After about a twenty minute drive, we reached the drive-in. The parking lot was half full so there weren't many people there. You may be wondering what movie we were going to see. Despicable me 3. Don't judge...we're 17 year old children.

Once Chloe parked the car, we all hopped out and went to grab snacks. Jessie went to the bathroom because she didn't feel good. The alcohol should explain that. While she was doing that, Chloe and I went to the snack bar and got in line for some popcorn and some sodas. While we waiting for the person in front of us to finish ordering, I starting looking around and watching more cars pull into the parking lot.

The sky was a beautiful shade of dark blue mixed with a slight bit of purple. I loved these nights.

A loud noise of laughter sounded from the where the toilets were. I thought it was Jessie but when I looked, I saw three teenage boys. Two of them were laughing their heads off while the other one just stood there, staring at them like they were complete idiots which I have to admit, they kinda looked like they were.

The boy who was standing there not doing anything, looked over and made eye contact with me. I could only just see his eyes from the light attached to the bathrooms they were near. Soon, I see Jessie walk out the bathroom and waltz over to Chloe and I.

"Ohhh I saw that!" She said as she got closer to me. "W-what?" I said back completely confused. "I saw y-you eying up that guy over t-there" she hiccuped. I shook my head and replaced my facial expression with a small blush. Chloe seems to notice. "Ohhh I seeing too!" Chloe pointed out as she jumped up and down. "Oh shut up you two" I said, crossing my arms across my chest, angrily. I wasn't really angry I was just a bit humiliated. "Aww you love us" Chloe nudge me with her elbow, smiling. "Whatever" I chuckled.

We got our food and walked to the car. We spent the whole movie laughing, joking and playing silly little games.
Soon, it was time to go. "I'll be back. I need to go to the bathroom" I said and hopped out the car. I walked over to the bathroom with was only lit up by the orange light that was attached to the bathroom. The boys who were laughing before were still there. I ignored them and walked into the bathroom.
Once I was done I walked out after washing my hands. It was beginning to feel cold. As I walked past the boys who were cracking up laughing again, one of them whistled. I kept walking because I didn't think it was directed towards me.

But I was wrong.

It was.
