Chapter 29: When I Get Back To You

~~~
It has been 5 months and Kai is still in the military, everyday they would train and have lessons. The other times they will have a rest but will have an intense training by the next day. It was hard for Kai at first, but he got used to it.
Right now, he's taking a rest. Since tomorrow will be their last day before going back to their own hometowns for a short vacation.
Kai saw a letter that is new to him, it was from his mother. He quickly opened the letter and read it.
Dear Toshiki,
I just came home from your grandparents' place. I hope you're doing fine there. I already talked to Misaki-chan, she's your lover, isn't she? I am so glad you found someone that is beautiful and kind, and I talked to her parents too. And we have an agreement, you have to marry Misaki-chan.
I really do think you are a perfect match for her.
Anyways, when you come home, I hope you'll be able to talk to Misaki-chan about this.
Sincerely, your mother.
Mrs. Kai
Kai sighed, he's quite glad that his mother had sent him a letter. But he's quite annoyed that he was about to get married without him being known.
It's not like he didn't want to marry Misaki, he just thought that it's so sudden for both their parents to suddenly make an agreement. He thought that Misaki got shocked at it too.
He puts the letter down and he sat at his bunk bed. Kai looked at the window and stared at the sky, it was cloudy and the clouds are gray. The rain is about to fall down.
He missed summer a lot because he could remember how bright everything is, he somehow missed that time when he first met Misaki just because she wanted to buy flowers, and the second time they met because of the stray cats.
He missed that time when Misaki was crying because of a serious situation, and the time they went to the beach with everyone and they had a good time.
He remembered the serious Aichi when he found out that Kourin was engaged to someone else and Aichi had to help Kourin stop the wedding.
Kai also remembered the afternoon before he left, where Misaki stayed with him for a day with him because they're going to part ways.
But he can't admit those things, he even tried to stop thinking about it. He got kind of homesick because he's not there again.
He missed his family, Aichi, Miwa, Morikawa, Izaki, Kourin, Naoki, Shingo, and mostly Misaki.
Kai sighed and only lied down, closing his eyes. Maybe he really just can't deny it.
And he never even heard Misaki said those three words to him.
'I'll come home. And I want to hear her say those words. And maybe I really should do it. Tomorrow, I'll talk to her about the marriage and maybe... when I get back to her, I'll tell her how I really feel.'
