People were screaming, women were holding on to their children, houses were burning.

The whole village were lit in an angry red glow, the flames licking their way towards more belongings, setting them on fire.

Yara felt a hot feeling crawling up in her body.

Rage.

Rage filled her body as she watched familiar soldiers killing men and women left and right.

Rafael's men.

With red clouding her vision, she kicked the horse in the ribs to sprint forward.
There was a path at the edge of the village, hidden by trees from the woods.
Yara knew their house was just on the edge of the woods. If she could make it safely to her house, she can hide her mother and go out to rescue other lifes.

It was a blood bath on the way towards the hidden path. Each time she got near a soldier, its life were immediately ended by her sword or an arrow.

Getting closer to the streets of the village, Yara realized, she could lose the life of her horse and hers in the streets, as there were soldiers everywhere the eye could see. People were ripped out of their homes while others were being burned alive.

While Yara was feeling numb of horror and sadness, the rage within her kept her fighting.

Suddenly a man came infront of her horse, startling it. The horse reared back on it's hind legs, knocking Yara off.

The impact of the solid ground underneath her were a hardblow to her head, making the world spin around her.

Shaking her head from the dizziness, she struggled up, trying to get ahold of her horse.

"Falcon! Is that you?"

She spinned around and looked at the man that caused her horse acting wild.
She reconized the man as somebody she bought bread from, when she was a warrior here at Linova. As quickly as possible, she ushered the man up on her horse. Grasping his arm, she gave her warrior pin to him.

"Get out of here as fast as possible. Don't look back. Go to the King, give him this and call all soldiers to help Linova. Get the medics ready and stay alive. Go!"
She slapped the horse on its back, causing it to sprint away in the direction of Linova's gate.

Glancing back at the streets, she made a run to her house. The enemy's men were skilled soldiers, specialized in killing and destroying. Yara fought her way forward, scared that her mother might already be dead. The last man's life drowned away from his slitted throat, when Yara could see their house's door.

Slamming it open she ran it while calling her mother.

"Mother! Mother? Where are you?"

"Yara! Yar-"

Yara's heart sank at hearing her mother's scream. "Mother!"

Running up the stairs she saw blood on the walls. Cold panic bloomed in her heart, followed by anger.

Her mother were in her sleeping room, held down by two men. Each had a weapon, one holding a knife, ready to kill her.

Yara's eyes widened when she saw scene. With one smooth movement she threw a dagger at the one's back, killing him instantly. Getting ready to throw another dagger, a voice stopped her.

"I won't be doing that if I were you."

The man had a sinister look on his face while he smirked.

"Is this your mommy, little girl?"

Yara's fisted the dagger tighter behind her back at the man's words. He held his knife closer against the mother's neck, drawing blood.

"I'm no little girl. Hand my mother over. She has done nothing against you."

The man let out a chuckle. "I suppose not. But unfortunately I'm not a fair person, sweetheart. Killing is my hobby." With that he slitted her mother's throat, staining the floor with a dark red. He turned back at her. "With you next-"

Yara's dagger met him in the face, silencing him immidiately. "There won't be anyone next, coward."

Yara stared a moment at the two motionless bodies before running up to her mother. Grasping her mothers head between her palms she leaned down, pressing her forehead against her mother's.

"No. No! Not you too, Mother..." she wispered sadly.

Yara felt like crying. To hide away and never face the world again. The loss of her father was already hard on her, but now...seeing her mother's dead body lying on the floor, broke her heart.

While Yara forced the numb feeling to disappear, new feelings started to apear.

Anger.

Rage.

Revenge.

Hatred.

With a cold heart she stood up, covered her mother's form with a blanket and left the room.

Her bow and arrows were fastened on her back with her dagger in her hand.
Yara let the cold feeling of loss and remorse overcome her as she left her house and mother behind.

Outside she gave her body over in the feelings that raged within her. Men fell left and right from her, dead. More and more tried to kill her but didn't exceed, just falling back with blood leaving their bodies.

These men will pay for what they did to my village and the people.

They will pay.

Unknown POV.

"My lord, we burned down the building with the soldiers. There's no survivors. Unfortunately there's a problem."

One of the soldiers said, coming up to me.

I rose a bow. "What is it?"

King Rafael was a coward and doing dumb things being his speciality, his plans almost never worked. Now killing people from the outskirts of King Dimitri's land, was his plan taking this land for him self.

Strange that this one village had an army unlike the rest that we already conquered. This village was the only village that fought back, delaying the King's plans. Unfortunately they didn't stand a chance against an army double their size.

The soldier sighed. "100 men were killed in the south part of the village. It first seemed like a Linovian soldier. But after more of our men arrived on the scene, they managed to catch and bound her.
She's in your tent. We thaught she might amuse you."
