Maya's Secret

I run to the cafeteria and to Zeke, all while freaking out and crying. “Kylie, Baby, what’s wrong? And where did Maya go? What did you guys do anyway?” I start bawling into him and try to explain.

                “We talked an she ghewnsu And then I hviuw She screamed jfhweuhfrh Can’t find Maya jsdfhiwuhgu3hrg Hates me sjfhijrhginvuh my fault!!!!!” He just hugs me tight and looks at Sapphire.

                “I’ll translate. She and Maya went to talk because Maya was all pissy and then Maya got mad at her and she tried to explain and hug her but she pulled off her and said she hates her and then ran away and Kylie can’t find her. Right?” I nod my head yes.

                “Oh Kylie! I’m so sorry! Here, let’s go find and work everything out okay? I’m sure she doesn’t hate you. Anthony why do you look guilty?” Anthony bites his lip as we start walking around.

                “I might know why Maya’s upset and no one will be very happy about it, especially you Zeke….” He looks up scared and falls silent. He looks sad and angry. I wonder why?

                “What do you know Anthony?” He shakes his head and signs I won’t tell! Great! So we walk outside to the garden area. And start looking around but still she’s not there and all I can think about is how its my fault this happened and that now she hates me. We walk back inside and go to the epic room and I practically run there and no one else even tries to keep up and the hallways are silent. I can only hear the sound of my feet hitting the floor and me breathing for air as I reach the door. I open it carefully and hear someone silently weeping. “Maya?” I look inside and see her huddled into the far corner of the room with her head in her knees. I walk over to her slowly and slide down to sit next to her. “Look, whatever it is that I did to make you angry or upset or anything, I’m sorry, but will you please talk to me and tell what’s wrong or what I did or something?”

                She stops crying and mumbles something. “Wha-“

                “I said go away! I don’t want to talk to you!” I tense up and feel tears coming down my cheeks so I look down. I hear her move and then I feel her lift up my face and wipe away the tears with her thumbs. “I’m sorry….I don’t hate you and you never did anything to hurt me, It’s my fault….I’m sorry.” I look at her scared. She sighs and bites her lip like she’s contemplating.

                “Maya? What’s wrong? You’re starting to scare me. You know you can always talk to me if you’re upset…” I stop when she closes her eyes and sighs again. She opens them again.

                “If I tell you, you’ll hate me.” I shake my head no. “Do you promise? Because if you don’t I can’t tell you. Don’t break it either, you also can’t tell anyone else….” She stops and looks at me and you can see it written all over her face that she’s scared.

                “Maya, just tell me! I promise not to tell anyone and I never break promises and I promise not to get mad either.” I cross my legs and she sits down in front of me so that our knees touch.

                “Well I might….Kylie, I…..Look….” She grabs my face and kiss my lips softly. I’m so shocked I can’t do anything. She pulls back and backs up across the room to the other wall and curls up. “I’m sorry! Now you’re going to hate me, please don’t hate me!” I sigh. What do I do now? I mean I’m dating Zeke, hell I just slept with Zeke! I put my head back, causing it to hit the wall.

                “I don’t hate you I just am confused. Why did you wait till now to tell me? Why were you happy that Zeke and I got together I had the thing last night or when you got a boyfriend. Why when Sapphire came?” I bite the right side of my lip and close my eyes. She stays silent for a long time.
