~~~~~
The next morning, she got dressed in a flowing white floral dress and flats and carried her deep blue Louis Vuitton bag. "You look beautiful." he acknowledged as they were leaving the house."Thanks." she said, "You too." she said and he shot her dirty look.
They got in his car and in less than thirty minutes, they were at his house.
It was a nice 6 bedroom duplex which him, his parents and his twin siblings live in.
They walked in and as soon as Taiwo saw her, he ran and shouted at the top of his lungs "Kehinde, the traitor's here.". She looked at him in surprise, turned to Ian and said "Ian, what do six year olds know about traitors."
"These ones are too smart for me to handle." he said. "Can you imagine what Kehinde asked me one day? That tiny rat asked who it was that made me carry a condom around. Lotanna, I was shocked." he said telling her with so much interest. "Haew!" she exclaimed. "So you've started moving around with a condom?" she said. "Eyonn, Eyonn. Let her ask you well sef."
"Lotanna stop na, we're supposed to be on the same team." he said smiling at her. "I just felt like carrying one along. Or is it a bad thing?" he asked pretending to be serious. "If it's not a bad thing, then why don't you want her asking you about it? Infact sef, since it's good, let's have the talk with them." she said. "Tee and Kay?" she shouted.
"Kai Tanna, you like rough play too much." he said faking a frown. She was smiling now "See your big head, you-" she was interrupted by Kehinde's voice from a different room "Traitor!".
"Kehinde stop nau, you're hurting me. You too Taiwo." she said. "You missed our birthday." they both said as if they'd rehearsed it. "Don't mind her Taiwo. It's not like she wasn't in Abuja sef." Kehinde said.
Ian stood aside laughing and Lotanna shot him a dirty look he stopped as soon as she did. "Go and look for them na." he said. "Abeg, let me go and get ready." he told her walking away.
She rolled her eyes and hissed at him as she walked towards their playroom to talk to them holding their presents in her hands. "T? K? I'm coming in now." she informed them. "Nooooo." they said. She walked in faking a sad face.
"I'm sorry guys, Lotanna's been busy." she said. "But Lotanna missed our birthday, we turned six Tee. I'm sure you didn't know." Taiwo said. "So you can't call her aunty Lotanna shey? These children eh Awọn ọmọde ti awọn ode oni ko ni ọwọ kankan" they turned as they heard the voice behind them. "Mummyyyyyy." Lotanna ran to hug her.
A chubby woman stood behind them, hands on waist. She was wearing a slightly fitted dress and a straight jacket having the same design on it stopping few inches above the end of the dress and a black bag that complimented the dress well. Her gold rimmed glasses tightly hanging behind her ears showing her beautiful eyes.
"Mummy I've missed you fah." she said and they released themselves from the hug. "Keep quite joor. Are we not in Abuja together? You could've come to see me any time. Even in the office too. You just forget me." she said.
"Mummy I'm sorry. You, T and K are mad at me. I hope daddy isn't too?" she said. "He is oh." she said. "He's very angry sef. Pupo." she added.
"Ahhh, wahala! I'm sorry mummy." she said as she pleaded. Scanning her from head to toe, she said "Mummy you're looking hot oh.". "Don't make her head swell jare." Ian said as he reappeared wearing a chinos trouser and a white shirt with a deep blue leather jacket.
"Owolabi Ian Dimeji Victor! This boy you're trying me oh." his mum said as turned to face him. " ọmọbinrin mi, warn this boy oh. My mother was still slapping me in my husbands house." she said facing Lotanna. "Don't come and start forming big boy for me. I've told you now oh, Nitori pe pẹtẹlẹ yoo pẹ si oju oju rẹ ti o dara" she said to Ian. The twins laughed at him. "Will you shut up there?" Ian said to them. "Will you leave my babies alone?" his mum and Lotanna said at the same time.
"Kai Yoruba mothers sef." Ian said "There's no winning with you people, and you Tanna, you've joined her ba? You'll see who will drive you around na." he added.
"My baby has a driver Ian. Even though, I'll send the driver anytime you need him eyeh?" she said. "Kai, may God help you guys."Ian said. "Mummy don't you have somewhere to go to?" Ian added.
"It's true ohh." she said and Ian rolled his eyes smiling. "Omobinrin mi, make sure you come and see me and daddy tomorrow okay?" she said. "Okay mummy." Lotanna said. "Bye my baby." she said rubbing her cheek. "Bye ma." she said. "Bye mummy." the twins said. "Mummy?" Kehinde called. "Mummy please buy that tutu for me, I don't like the other one again." she said.
"Kehinde don't disturb me please. Jowo ma se bere" Mrs Owolabi said with a stern tone and left the house. Kehinde looked disappointed and she crossed her hands and put her head on them. "Kehinde?" Lotanna called. "I bought something for you, it was supposed to be your birthday present." she said but Kehinde didn't raise her head. Ian leaned on the door and smiled at Lotanna who was backing him.
She brought out the ballet dress and the onesie. Taiwo gasped and the only thing he could say was "Kehinde look!".
She reluctantly agreed and rose her head up. "When she saw the dress and onesie, she ran and jumped on Lotanna and the only thing she could say was "OMG! Thanks you so much Tee. I love you so much." she grabbed them from Lotanna's hand and hugged them tightly.
Taiwo went to meet his sister and he asked if he could look at it. They were both happy and Lotanna brought out the PS 4 and she ran to meet her too and hugged her tightly. "We love you so much Tee." he said.
"I love you guys too." they came to meet her and they both hugged her tightly. Ian joined them and he pecked Lotanna and whispered "Thanks." to her.
They informed the nanny that they were leaving and she came to stay with them. They were still talking about it as they left the house.
Ian was smiling as she was skipping to the car in front of him. He shook his head trying to get rid of the thoughts that were racking his head as he got into the car.
He sat in front of the steering wheel but didn't start the car. He leaned back in his seat closing his eyes. "Ogbeni start driving." she said hitting his arm but he didn't move. "Ian?" she called looking serious now.
He still didn't answer keeping a straight face. "Ian? Ian answer me." she said. This time he got up and kissed her hard on the lips but she didn't back off.
After a while, they pulled away from eachother. A flood of embarrassment filled her as she got out of the car and just started walking. Walking to no where exactly, just walking.
