An hour passed when Richie finally woke up from what was injected in him. He shot up and looked around frantically for Eddie.

"Eds....." Richie gasped in shock as he stepped towards the boys bed.

Eddie laid unconscious on his bed, his hair stuck to his forehand by sweat and his eyes twitching occasionally. Richie placed his hands on the boys face.

"Eddie!Eds! " he shouted, hoping the boy was okay.

That's when Richie saw the red marks on his temples. They were almost like burns. They were bright red and purple in some areas. It was bad, Richie could tell.

Tears fell down the boys face and he held eddies hand in his and stayed that way, hoping he would wake up soon.

An hour passed until eddies eyes finally fluttered open. Richie whipped his head up and smiled as tears ran down his face.

"Eds! You're awake!" He shouted and Eddie looked at his hand in Richies.

"Oh.... I'm sorry" Richie said pulling his hand away, but Eddie reached out for it and held it once more, he smiled.

The two stayed in silence, holding hands, as the night swept by.

When Eddie fell asleep Richie crawled over to his bed and laid down, quickly falling asleep too.

Richie was back in his house. His father stood in front of him, holding a knife.

His mother was behind him, smoking a cigarette and smiling. Richie turned away to run to his room but his dad ran at the boy, grabbing him and pulling him back.

Richies dad thrust the knife into the air and Mrs Tozier watched, smiling, as the knife descending into Richie.

Richie woke with a start. Sweat dripping down his face mixing with tears. The boy sat up against the wall, shaking.

Richie hated all of this.. He hated the constant haunting memories.

The boy looked down at his wrists as tears spilled out of his eyes.

He pictured his parents, so happy without Richie In their life. He pictured all the students at his school who probably forgot Richie existed.

Richie didn't care. The boy barely wanted to exist. He hated everything in his life. Including himself.

The only small light of hope was the boy who slept a couple feet away from him.

As Eddie woke up slowly that morning, his head felt as if it were on fire. He could barely move it.

The boy didn't remember much of yesterday. But he remembered Richie. He remembered holding hands..

Eddie pushed himself out of bed and slowly started walking to get breakfast. He sat down at a table alone. Slowly eating a burnt piece of toast.

Richie walked in and set eyes on Eddie, he started walking to his table when Eddie stood up and left.

I'll get in trouble if I'm seen with him Eddie thought as he stood up from the table and walked away. He felt bad. But he couldn't stand another electroshock appointment. The fear of it kept him walking to exit the lunchroom.

Richie looked at the boy who was leaving longingly and sighed. He sat down alone and ate his breakfast which only consisted of a glass of water.

The boy felt sad again, he looked down at the glass of water and thought about all the school lunches he skipped because the idea of not eating was more appealing than gaining weight.

Richie walked to the day room, with his head pounding from side effects of the medicine, to get his meds and he realized it was visiting hours. No one came to visit him.

Looking around he didn't recognize anyone. Except in the corner sat a girl in a hospital robe curled up on a wheelchair. SHe had red fire hair that was unevenly cut. She sat at the table alone looking around frantically.

Richie walked up to her and sat down, she looked at him with weary eyes.

"Hey, I havnt seen you here. You new?" Richie asked her and she nodded. Richie noticed that she was covered in small bruises. Some on her arms and some on her legs. There were cuts on her face.

"Me too." Richie said and he smiled at her. She was the only one here except for Eddie that seemed close to their age.

"I-I'm Beverly." She finally spoke.

"I'm Richie" the boy said back and Beverly finally looked up at him. Bev noticed He wore thick glasses framed by thick curly hair. On both of his wrists were 7 inch stitches.

Richie noticed her staring and asked "so how come you're here?"

"I h-had a b-breakdown." She whispered and Richie reached and grabbed her hand.

"Hey don't worry, you've got me in here." He said with a smile and she finally smiled back.

The two stayed in the day room for hours playing different board games. Richie lost most times as he didn't really know how to play them.

When it was time for the two to go back to their room for "relaxing time" as they called it. Beverly and Richie separated at the hallway that divided the girls and boy dorms.

When Richie walked into his room he heard Eddie say he was going to go take a shower. Richie nodded and collapsed on his bed.

Eddie was on his way to the showers holding a towel in his hand when he heard a distant woman's scream. This wasn't unusual, I mean, it was a mental hospital. But it sounded so close. Like it was on this floor.

As he walked closer to the showers he heard the woman scream "stop it!".

As Eddie entered the shower room he realized the screams were coming from in there.

"Hello?" He shouted into the locker room.

"Help me!" He heard the girl scream and Eddie frantically ran to the showers and looked behind all the curtains. Behind the last one he saw a girl in a bra and underwear, soaking wet red hair, laying on the ground and a guy towered over her.

It was Henry bowers. He was pinning her wrists down and shouting something.
