The two sat In their shared room talking, it was mostly Eddie doing the talking, but Richie slowly became more comfortable.

"So.. Are you my roommate?" Eddie asked.

"I guess so, huh?" Richie responded. "I got here last night around 3 am. What about you?" The boy asked.

"I was checked in three months ago."

"Holy shit, howcome?" Richie asked looking interesting and Eddie almost cringed, he had barely told anyone why the boy was checked in. But then again he didn't have anyone who asked.

"Erm..." Eddie started, trying to think of a way to phrase it. "My momma checked my in, since I'm technically sick, I guess." He said scratching the back of his head and biting down on his lips.

"What do you mean?" Richie asked, looking confused and Eddie felt himself turning red. He felt so alone.

"They think I like boys." The boy blurted out and Richie let out a gasp. Eddie thought it was a gasp of judgement, of shock. But he didn't know Richie let out that gasp out of pity for the boy that didn't deserve to be here.

"Eddi-" but Eddie cut him off. The boy was tired of the homophobic comments that always followed him saying he was gay.

"Forget it. I'm disgusting, I know. I'm fucking sick." Eddie spat out, looking at the ground.

"No. Eddie I did not mean that, trust me." Richie said, still keeping his distance by sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Please." Eddie replied, letting out a sigh and rolling his eyes. "So, why are you here?" The boy asked, wanting to switch the subject.

Richie stood up from his bed and walked over to the middle of the room.

"You tell me." He said, lifting his arms up to run his fingers through his hair. Both His wrists were wrapped in gauze and tape and under them you could see stitches, looking down at his pale skinny legs Eddie could see white lines up and down his thighs.

Richie walked over to the side of his bed and threw on pair of baggy sweatpants that were given to him and a new white shirt. Looking down Richie cringed, he hated his outfit but it was all he had.

Eddie climbed out of bed and threw on a pair of black athletic shorts and a grey hoodie. Richie looked at the boys clothes and smiled. Eddie had his own clothes since his mother dropped them off.

"God the clothes they give you really are putrid huh?" Richie said, finally breaking the silence and Eddie laughed.

"Here, this was always too big for me" Eddie said, tossing Richie a large black shirt. Richie grabbed it and threw it on, feeling so much more happy.

"Thanks you so much eds!" He screamed pulling Eddie into a hug. Eddie pushed Richie back and stood back.

"S-sorry. I just.." Eddie started and Richie looked at him with sorry eyes. He didn't mean to startle the boy.  "I just havnt hugged anyone in a while. I'm sorry for jumping back." He said and Richie sat down next to the boy on his bed.

"I totally get it eds. No worries." He said, patting the boys knee.

"Eddie. Eds is too girly." He said and Richie laughed, then the bell rang for breakfast. Richie shifted back, thinking of school.
