"HAVE A PIECE OF GARLIC BREAD," Patrick insisted as he handed Freddie a plate with a piece of bread on it.

"Thanks," the goaltender said, placing the plate on the table before starting to eat it.

Patrick smiled, "hey Matty," he got the wingers attention who turned to face the older man.

"Yeah?"He questioned, fiddling with the napkin in his lap.

Patrick grinned wickedly, "I didn't forget about you man, here have a piece of bread." Before Matt could protest, Patrick had shoved the plate at him, urging him on to take it.

After giving Marleau an odd look, he took the plate in his hand and placed it on the table. Picking the bread up, Matt instantly dropped it as he flipped it over and saw what was on the bottom. Immediately jumping out of his seat, he gasped. "Mitch! Mitch! Kill it! Kill it!" He pointed at the spider that was stuck to the top of the bread.

Everyone gasped, except for Patrick, who was hysterically laughing, clapping his hands together as he laughed. "Matt! Calm down! Its fake!" James exclaimed, directly across from the supposed tough guy.

Matt immediately calmed down, placing his hand on his heart to gain his composure. Patrick, who started to calm down as well, wore a gigantic smile on his face. "What happened?" Dominic asked from the far end of the table.

"Ha! I put a spider in Matt's bread!" Patrick roared, a few of the boys now laughing as well. "Holy shit," Patrick breathed, rubbing his eyes, "that was the best one yet."

Andreas, one of the few new additions to the team, chuckled nervously from beside Patrick. "Funny stuff, is this a thing, you all do? How did I not know this was a thing?"

Matt had calmed down, but was now bubbling over in frustration and anger. Sitting back down, he spoke urgently, "because every time he does this, I hope that he'll remember he's suppose to be the father figure on the team - and stop it."

Patrick nodded, "I will stop. When it stops being funny," he broke out into laughter again. "Besides," he started, pointing at Matt, "you won't overcome your arachnophobia, unless you expose yourself to spiders."

Matt rolled his eyes, leaning forward in his seat. "I was never scared of spiders, until you put one in my bathroom three months ago. Like leave a nice little sticky note or something, not a fucking spider."

Patrick furrowed his eyebrows, "but whats the fun in that?"

Matt cracked a small smile, chuckling as he shook his head. "I knew you wouldn't invite us over for dinner just to be nice."
