Kaz

Swirling darkness, encasing him. He embraced it, enjoying the quiet of it. That was, of course, until the memories started. Clamouring for attention, for space. Parasites feeding off of his grief and anger, they swarmed until he could no longer ignore them. But - there. A tug. He followed blindly, knowing only that it lead away from this place, that he could escape from this hell, even for a moment. Till finally, it brought him stumbling into the light.

Kaz's limp was back. That was what he noticed first. He then noticed that he was on the Black Veil, that there were the crows, drinking tea before him. How?

"Are we dead?" That was a logical conclusion, after all.

"We were," Nina stated, "But then we came back. I think our death took us back to Ketterdam - and no, I don't know how. But if we were dead, I would be able to tell."

"Rollins isn't dead either, then?"

"Neither is Van Eck - I don't think any time has passed here." Inej replied.  Kaz wondered if they had all gone through the same thing to get here. If that was why everyone was so... subdued. They truly were alive. Which meant he had more time with Inej. He hadn't lost her - not yet. Stepping outside, he watched the sunset. He hadn't really had much inclination to before, but now he knew what death was like. There were most definitely no sunsets.

Taking his gloves out of his pocket (He was somehow wearing the clothes he had worn before.), he slid them onto his hands, then walked back inside.

"I have a new plan."
