Everyone gathered around as Newt and Ayla ran towards the bonfire. The warmth spread through Ayla's face as they got closer and closer to the fire. The bright fire seemed oddly familiar. Again, Ayla couldn't remember when she had experienced it thanks to the so-called "creators". Anyways, all the gladers were here now. Some were chatting, some were dancing and some were sitting alone. Whatever they're doing, they're celebrating the coming of a new person, which is her. She knew that she should be happy that they actually threw a bonfire to celebrate this, instead, she felt loneliness surrounding her.

She hated when she couldn't remember anything... She sat down and sighed. She almost forgot that Newt was still watching over her until he had spoken up.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Just random things... actually there's nothing I can think of. I don't even know exactly who I am, how am I supposed to think about other things?"

"That's what we all thought when we first got here."

"But what we have to focus right now is how to get the shuck out of here and I'm sure we'll find our way out. Don't be so bloody stressed out." He added. His voice was so comforting and that made her feel a lot better. Not knowing who she was was the worst feeling she has ever had...

"Hey greenie! Wanna wrestle?" Gally shouted with a cocky smile on his face.

She stood up, ready to walk over to Gally only to be stopped by Newt. He told her not to do that since she could hurt herself badly. She suddenly felt the urge of confidence rushing up inside of her so somehow, she ignored his words.

"I'll be fine." Ayla smiled and walked over to Gally with Newt following behind.

"You think girls can't fight? Then you're shucking wrong" she shouted back, not realising that she used a glader's slang.

As she got there, Gally explained the rules.

"Rules are simple greenie. I'll try to push you out of the circle and you try to stay for more than 5 seconds" He snorted and the other gladers laughed along.

"Ready?" He asked as she stretched herself a little to get ready. Without any hesitation, he ran across the tiny circle and tried to push her out of it. But she was faster. She moved aside as soon as he ran. He was caught by other gladers and they pushed him back into the circle. Ha, seems like you're not so hard to fight after all. She thought. He scrambled to his feet and gave his second shot. His fist was going to reach her face but again, she was faster. She blocked it and twisted his arm. He was so shocked that he didn't expected the next thing she did was judo flipping him. He ended up face planted on the ground. Everyone around "booed" and some cheered. He wasn't out of the circle yet so the game wasn't over.

"Ouch... you're pretty good at this greenie." Gally muttered. He ran across the circle and tried to push her once again. Instead, he was pushed out of the circle. This time everyone cheered. Ayla helped Gally up and said, "Try not just attacking your opponent next time and find their weakness." She didn't remember where she had heard that before, but she's pretty sure that it's important since she remembered.

"Thanks." He said with a surprised look. After that, she simply walked away with a smile. Newt walked away from the crowd and followed her.

"Hey!" He said as he caught up with her. "Where did you learn that?"

"I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that's what I've been doing in my past life since I'm pretty comfortable with it. It all seemed... natural, to me." She wondered what else she could do as she said. She put her hand on her necklace, remembering what the mysterious voice had said. My greatest weapon... what does that mean? She thought. She then twisted the pendant on her necklace and it  revealed her sword. People around her looked at her like she was weird.

"Why are you holding a stick?" Someone asked.

The blade and the grip were dark gray (almost black) and slightly shimmery. It also had a silver cross-guard and pommel. The terms "stygian iron" and "silver" came across her mind. These terms must be the type of metals that were used to make this sword. But why can't they see a sword? She thought.

"Wow... you have a sword!?" Newt asked. Ayla quickly turned it back, avoiding any more people seeing it.

"Uh... yeah I guess. How can you see it?" There was no reply. She didn't understand why Newt could see it while others couldn't. She suddenly had the urge to check her boots. Therefore, she quickly ran towards the woods so no one would know anything if she had  something hidden inside her boots. Newt followed but she didn't mind because she knew she could trust him for some reason.

They got to the woods and Ayla scanned through the trees. Nobody's there except for Newt and her. Great. She quickly slipped off her boots and found a knife on her left side. She took it out and examined it, but nothing came to her mind.  As she slipped on my boots, she felt something hard press against the right side of my waist. What the heck? She thought. She lifted up her shirt and found a dagger tied on her waist. The dagger seemed so... familiar.

It was bronze with lots of details on the sheath. Celestial bronze. She thought. On the other hand, the knife was pure silver.

"You sure have lots of weapons. Care to share why?" Newt snapped her out of her thoughts.

"I... I don't know..." she replied. Why haven't I noticed them when I came up from the box? Are these weapons even mine?

They're your rewards from me and the camp. You know how to use them. The voice said.

What's the camp? And what else do I have or know? She asked in her mind. But there's no reply. She silently cursed and looked at Newt.

"Please... Don't tell anyone about the weapons." She begged him. If anyone knows about the weapons, she would be doomed.

"Yeah well... I don't have a reason to tell anyone about it so your secret will be safe with me. But I'll tell Alby if I have to so promise me one thing." He said.

"Yeah?"

"Try to remember something, anything honestly, if those weapons are yours. It might be able to help us." He suggested. She didn't have an excuse to not do that so she nodded.

Then, there's a silence. A great silence though. It wasn't awkward at all. They stood there for awhile, embracing the silence.

"I wonder what our lives were before all this klunk." Ayla broke the silence.

"Same. But I'm especially curious about yours since you have these weapons with you." Newt replied. His face filled with curiosity.

"I think... I'm special, in some ways. Before I woke up, I heard this voice, telling me my name and that I'm special. He said something about me having ADHD and it's my greatest gift. Besides that, he said..." she paused, thinking if she should tell him about the demigod part.

"What else did he say?" Newt asked.

"Nothing. He said nothing at all." She lied. Newt looked like he's not convinced but decided not to push it any further.

"I think the voice was my dad." Ayla added. "It was... very convincing to me. It's like I've heard that voice before and I really trusted him. Do this happen to any of you?"

"No... except for you." Newt said. His face was unreadable this time.

He looked at his watch and said, "Oh... it's getting late. Let's go get you settled. You're lucky you don't get to spend the actual whole night in the slammer." After that, he walked towards the slammer (she assumed). She zoned out for awhile but caught up with him soon. Time to spend her first night in the glade (and the slammer).
