So, a common misconception about depression is that you need to have something tragic that happened in your life or is happening in your life to have it. But unfortunately that is not true.
Take me for example. All that has really happened to me is that I've had a toxic relationship with my family and that I've been bullied for 5 years. Yet my family still loves me, is trying to help me recover. I am financially stable. And now my living conditions are much better. But I still have severe depression.
The sad truth about depression is that it doesn't just choose whoever has something that has hurt them. A person who's got everything they need and want could still get depression.
