"Baekhyun! Wake up!" Chanyeol aggressively shook Baekhyun's shoulders.

Baekhyun woke up startled, "What?"

"I had a dream!"

"Okay? Don't you usually have dreams?"

"No, Baekhyun. This dream, it was so different. I saw. Like, in color. I saw these people and I saw this little dog."

Baekhyun smiled, "Chanyeol, that's wonderful."

"I don't think I've always been blind. I saw these colors, gosh, I don't even know what all the colors are, but it wasn't just black. I wonder, was it a memory? I think those people were my parents and that little girl was my sister," Chanyeol rambled, "We have to go to the optometrist."

Baekhyun rubbed his eyes sleepily, "Right now? I just woke up."

"Yes, right now, you party pooper."

"It's a good thing I love you with all of my heart, Chanyeol," Baekhyun got up and picked out clothes for the both of them, helping Chanyeol get dressed, as he would every morning. Chanyeol would always insist that he didn't need Baekhyun's help, but Baekhyun still helped him despite this. Baekhyun wondered if Chanyeol would even need him anymore if he regained his sight. He felt like he was being selfish, and he really wanted to be excited for Chanyeol, but he couldn't be.

Chanyeol hugged the smaller boy from behind by his waist, "When I finally see my little Baekkie, I'll make sure I propose to him for real," He kissed the top of his head and picked him up.

Baekhyun smiled, a reassurance overcoming him, "And I can be a stay at home husband for you and cook for you all the time."

"That doesn't sound like very much fun."

"It's fun to me though."

"I'll never drop you on the stairs again either."

"It only happened twice, it's okay."

"Two too many times, baby," Chanyeol let Baekhyun stand on his own, holding his hand instead, "Baekhyun, what have I told you about wearing this ring on your finger?"

"You told me not to until we're engaged, but I want to wear it."

"Bring me your necklace, Baekhyun."

"I don't want to though," Baekhyun whined.

"I'm serious, bring it now."

"But I don't want to," Baekhyun continued to argue.

Chanyeol placed a light slap on Baekhyun's butt, "Don't argue with me, young man."

Baekhyun was both surprised and confused by Chanyeol's sudden dominance, but he had to admit he kind of liked it, "Young man? I'm older than you," Baekhyun rubbed his butt and reluctantly went back up the stairs. He brought his necklace back to Chanyeol.

Chanyeol took the ring off of his finger and put it on the necklace, "Good boy. Now leave it there, okay? If I find out that you took it off I'll spank you even harder."

"What's this about? Did somebody tell you about something they saw on Tumblr?"

"Maybe."

"I'm going to make us breakfast," Baekhyun stood up, Chanyeol seemingly attached to him. He found a number for an optometrist and gave his phone to Chanyeol.

Chanyeol talked on the phone as Baekhyun threw some stuff together for breakfast. They sat at the breakfast bar and ate.

"Your cooking really reminds me of DJ's," Chanyeol said.

"Well, I learned from him."

"You learned from the best," Chanyeol ate quickly and with excitement. Baekhyun ate slower, as he usually did, "Baekhyun, are you done yet?"

"No."

"Baekhyun, are you done yet?"

"If you want me to eat all of my food you're going to have to be patient."

"Sorry," Chanyeol sat quietly until Baekhyun was finished, but then he wouldn't wait for him to keep up as they walked towards the optometrist.

"Chanyeol, you're going to run into something if you're not more considerate for my short legs."

"Sorry," Chanyeol waited for his boyfriend to catch up, then held his hand. Baekhyun had never seen anyone so excited to be at the doctor's office. Baekhyun didn't appreciate the way the optometrist shone lights and put eye drops into Chanyeol's eyes. He thought he was being too aggressive.

"I have good news and bad news," said the aggressive optometrist.

"What's the good news?" Chanyeol asked.

"The good news is that it is, in fact, just very very dense cataracts."

Chanyeol bounced with happiness.

"The bad news?" Baekhyun questioned.

"The procedure has a fifty-fifty chance of actually working."

"Well, if we believe hard enough it will work," Chanyeol smiled, "When you got surgery, Baekhyun, they said you had a fifty-fifty chance of surviving, but I believed that you would survive, and you did!"

Baekhyun smiled a small smile. Even if he didn't want Chanyeol to ever see his blemishes and imperfections, he at least owed it to him to believe that his surgery would be a success, "I know it'll work Chanyeol. It's meant to work," Baekhyun questioned if it actually was meant to be. He always thought that Chanyeol's blindness was meant to be because he couldn't see Baekhyun and how hideous he thought he was. He had to believe it would work for Chanyeol's sake though.

"Yeah, it'll work," Chanyeol hugged Baekhyun from behind, without realizing it was from behind.

Baekhyun turned around in his arms, "Schedule his surgery, please."

Chanyeol bounced with excitement, "As soon as possible," Chanyeol's surgery was scheduled for a week later. On the way home he became more mellow, "Baekhyun."

"Chanyeol."

"Are you still worried I'll think you're ugly?"

"Yeah," Baekhyun looked at the sidewalk and squeezed Chanyeol's hand.

"Baekhyun, even if you are ugly, which I know you aren't, I'd still love you the same."

"Promise?"

"Yes, I promise," Chanyeol held up both of his pinkies. Baekhyun linked his pinkies with Chanyeol's.

"Okay, I feel a little better now."

"Good," Chanyeol kissed his cheek as they went inside.

"I'm still not completely reassured."

Chanyeol kissed his lips, "Are you now?"

Baekhyun smiled, "Yeah, I'll be okay now."
