"Thrawn..."
Ezra growled at the blue man, who smiled deviously in return. Ezra waved his light saber threateningly, preparing to attack. The Death troopers raised their blasters, ready to shoot the enemy.
"Don't shoot to kill, " Thrawn commanded his troops. "I want the boy alive. That doesn't necessarily mean he can't have a few.... injuries though"
Immediately the soldiers did as ordered and began to shoot at the young Jedi. Ezra deflected the dead on shots with ease, while at the same time knocking out each of the death troops individually. He used the force to knock some of them against the wall. While he wasn't paying attention, one of the troopers snuck up behind him and shot him in the shoulder of his dominant left arm.
Yes I made Ezra a lefty in this fanfic. Are any of you lefties? Do you know anyone who is a lefty?"Ghaaaa!!!!" Ezra grunted in pain as he proceeded to defeat the rest of the soldiers literally single handily. His arm felt like it was going to fall off and he couldn't move it. When he looked down at it, he was horrified to see a huge hole in his arm. He could have literally put 3 fingers through it.
Thrawn clapped slowly. "My my my. I have to say, your abilities have improved greatly. But I see you can't use your weapon now." He gestured to the light saber, where Ezra had dropped it when he got shot.
" Yeah," Ezra grunted, his damaged arm swaying from side to side uselessly. " but I can still beat you!" He raised his fist preparing to fight the chiss in hand to hand combat. He couldn't use the force due to the distraction of the pain in his arm.
Thrawn shook his head, almost in the same way an adult would shake theirs when a child had said something silly. "Crazy boy. You know nothing about me and I know everything about you and your crew. You're a funny one. I'm almost going to regret having to torture you later."
Ezra had had enough of the Thrawn and his ways of getting him, his family, and friends hurt. He kicked at Thrawn, who in return grabbed Ezra's foot and twisted his leg.
Ezra fell to the ground head first with a thud. His leg was fractured in at least 3 different places. His vision was fading from the fall. As he was slipping into unconsciousness, Ezra shouted, "Sabine! Run! It's a trap from Thrawn!!Don't come back.." The chiss kicked him in the head and right before he blacked out Ezra finished, " For me."

Sabine had slipped easily into the storage room. As soon as she was done getting the supplies, she would get out of there. Honestly, she had been surprised that Hera had assigned them to such an easy mission. This was rookie stuff!" Now's not the time to think about that, Wren." She muttered to herself. Ezra was waiting for her to finish up outside. He was probably about to fall asleep from being so bored. Sabine snorted at the thought of him snoring against a wall on an imperial base.
As she glanced around, her eyes fell on a couple of boxes in the corner of the room. She ran over it, using the codes that the Empire always used on storage containers she opened it to find... nothing?
She was just about to turn around, to go tell Ezra that this was all just a hoax, when she hear Ezra shouting, " Sabine! Run! It's a trap from Thrawn! Don't come back.."
There was a pause. Sabine stood there, frozen in place. What had gone so terribly wrong." For me!" Ezra finished .
"Ezra!!" She screamed. No response. How could Ezra expect her to leave him on an imperial base? In the hands of a mortal enemy? But she really didn't have much of a choice. Tears streamed down her cheeks. She had to go before the bucket heads got to her.
She ran out into the hallway. No one was out there surprisingly enough. Didn't they want to catch her too? Maybe this was another trap. She looked around for an escape. Her eyes immediately looked up to see an air vent. Of course! The vents! Ezra had taught her how to climb through them. Looking around once more before leaping into the small cramped vent, she muttered. " I'll come back Ez. I promise.

After what seemed like forever, Sabine had found herself back where she and Ezra had started. That was like a lifetime ago. While climbing through the vents, she had found a ladder that led up to the dock she had landed their ship on. Sabine had scratches from falling off the ladder numerous times because she had been crying so hard, it blurred her vision. Now she was dehydrated, hurt, and utterly depressed. How was she going to explain this to the rest of the family?
Surprisingly, the transport that they had took was still there. She scrambled onto it, got into the pilot seat and quickly departed from the Star Destroyer. She thought about Ezra. He was most likely multiple star systems away, being tortured by Thrawn at the very moment. Her heart broke when she thought of her friend- no, more than a friend. Not a brother. More. Something she couldn't put into words.
" I'm going to find you, Ezra," she
vowed. " I'll save you, even if I die trying."
