Adrian took my hand and dragged me upstairs to an empty room.

We sat on the bed and he stared at me. I promised myself I wouldn't let anything go too far.

"Kyrah, I don't want to hurt you. Do you understand?" He asked, very seriously.

I nodded, but then shook my head.

"I'm in a gang. If I ever have someone that I love or like, other gangs will hurt them. I don't want other gangs to hurt you."

Totally not what I was expecting.

"I can't be in a relationship with you, Kyrah. I'm sorry."

Right after he said that, he got up and walked to the door. He flashed me a quick sad smile before walking out. I took in what he said. Did that mean he loved me? I was so confused the only words that stuck to my head, that affected me the most, were these:

"I can't be in a relationship with you, Kyrah. I'm sorry."

But was he really sorry? Or was he just messing with me, like Ace did to Madison? I didn't know what to do, but my feelings acted in a different way. Tears started flowing down my cheeks. I couldn't take anymore of this mental torture. I got up and walked out of the door, my hair shielding my face. I got to the door, but was blocked by someone. I looked up to see Madison Farry staring at me with rage.

"I told you to leave him alone, didn't I?" She asked, anger dripping in her voice.

I tried to figure out what she meant by that. Then I remembered, she probably thought it was my fault that Ace 'left her'.

"And now you're gonna pay." She said, like she was planning my death, which she most likely was.

She grabbed me by the collar of Adrian's jacket, which I was surprisingly still wearing and she dragged me to an empty hallway and threw me into one of the rooms. She cracked her knuckles, which I had no idea she could do, and cracked her neck. I backed up until I reached the corner.

I have nowhere to go now. I might as well take the punishment.

She slowly came towards me. Her fist flied up.

Darkness.

My eyes opened and I stared at a blank ceiling. I wasn't in my room at home or my room at school. I was laying on the ground, my head pounding. The floor was freezing. I couldn't remember what happened. I sat up. It was an empty room. I slowly stood up and winced at the pain that was everywhere in my body. I walked out the door, step by step. Everything was silent. I saw a few drunken teenagers on the floor and couch, one on the table. I looked around at the unfamiliar house. Tons of things littered the floor. Then a memory came crashing back. There was a party. That was all I could remember. Who's party was it anyway? That didn't really matter at this point. I just needed to get home. No, not home, school. I needed to get to school. It was Saturday, I believed. Yes, Saturday, the party was on Friday and it was the next day right now. I limped out of the house.

Pain. That was all I felt.

What happened? I lingered to where all the cars were parked. Adrian's was gone, as was Ace's. Only a few cars remained. Was I drunk? Was this a hangover? I don't recall drinking anything. My legs gave out. I landed on the street, closing my eyes.

Pain and warm liquid, that's all I felt.

The next time I woke up, I was not in the empty room with the blank ceiling.  I wasn't staring at the street or the sky. No, this ceiling was light blue. I couldn't move. I couldn't do anything. I was weak and helpless. I overheard parts of a conversation.
