Riza's POV:
"Roy, I don't want you to freak out, okay?"
He nods, a stern expression still on his face.
"Remember that night, when we had the work party, just over a year ago?" I ask.
He nods.
"Remember when we got drunk?"
He nods.
"Remember what happened afterwards?"
He starts to nod, then his eyes go wide.
"She's...mine?" He asks.
I nod.
"Roy, I'd like you to meet your daughter, Kallie." I say as I hand her over.
He's crying now. Tears are rushing down his face.
"What's Kallie short for?"
"Kalama. It means flame." I say, climbing onto the hospital bed.
Now he's uncontrollably crying, and even through the tears I can see the biggest smile I've ever seen spread across his face.
He puts his arm around me and I curl up into his chest. Kallie grabbing at his fingers and putting them in her mouth.
"Kallie, I'm your daddy." Roy says as I feel his chest swell with pride.
"Da-da?" She asks.
We both gasp. Her first word.
We both start to cry.
We both have each other now, along with another blessing.
Our little spark.
Roy's POV:
"Roy, I don't want you to freak out, okay?" She says.
'Too late' I think, yet I nod anyway. Who is this other man?
"Remember that night, when we had the work party, just over a year ago?" She asks.
I nod.
"Remember when we got drunk?"
I nod.
"Remember what happened afterwards?"
I starts to nod, then it hits me.
That was the night we had finally gotten together and...
"She's...mine?" I ask.
Now she nods.
"Roy, I'd like you to meet your daughter, Kallie." She says as she hands over the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
She has my hair and her eyes.
She is the most beautiful creature I've ever seen.
Oh no. It's raining again.
"What's Kallie short for?" I ask, curious.
"Kalama. It means flame." She says, climbing onto the bed.
Now it's uncontrollably raining, and I have no problem with it.
As she gets comfortable beside me, I wrap my free arm around Riza while Kallie sucks on my fingers.
"Kallie, I'm your daddy." I say proudly.
This is the most perfect moment of my life. There is no way it could get any better.
"Da-da?" She asks.
We both gasp. Her first word.
I stand corrected.
We both start to cry.
We both have each other now, along with another blessing.
Our little spark.
