Riza's POV:
It's been a week. Roy's wounds are still severe. The doctors doubt that he's gonna make it.
"Excuse me, miss? There's a phone call for you, line 4."
"Thank you Nurse."
I pick up the phone, hoping for anything to keep my mind off of Roy's condition.
"Hello, Riza speaking."
"Riza! How've you been?" It's Edward.
"Not so great. How about you?"
"What's wrong? Somethings up..."
"It's just, the Homunculi attacked us while we were visiting him, looking for the secrets of Flame Alchemy. He burned himself to save me and Kallie."
"Holy- is he alright?" He asks, his voice wrapped in concern.
"The doctors d-don't think he's gonna make it..." I sob.
"Jeez, Riza, are you ok? How Kallie?
"She's staying with Havoc. I can't let her see me like this.... Anyways, listen to me ramble on. Why is it you called?"
"Well, me and Winry have big news!"
"Winry and I." I hear in the background.
I let out a quiet chuckle. "Hey Winry."
"Go on, Ed, tell her!" She beckons.
"WINRY'S PREGNANT! WE'RE GONNA BE PARENTS!!"
I feel warm tears of joy replace the cold tears of sadness that have stuck on my face. "I'm so happy for you guys. Sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding."
"Oh, it's no problem. Maybe you can make Al's wedding!"
"AL'S GETTING MARRIED?!" I almost scream in the phone.
"Yeah, to May! We always knew they would end up together."
"I'm so happy for him."
"Anyways, we bet that you're busy with stuff, so we're gonna go. You sure you'll be fine? Do you want us to come over to Central?"
"Oh no, you don't have to. I'll be fine. I just need some time."
"We understand, but we're gonna head over anyways. This is a rough time for you and you need all the support you can get." Winry whispered into the phone.
"Thank you Winry." I whisper back.
"We'll be there for tomorrow, noon at the latest." Ed cut in.
"Sounds great! Thank you guys so much. I don't know if I can get through this without you."
"No problem! See you then!"
"See you." I whisper back.
I put the phone down and sigh.
This was all my fault. I should have trusted him.
I should have known.
