ONE MONTH LATER

BLUE'S POV

By now Michael was well too. I will be okay. He will be okay.

He agreed to taking me to my hometown where I spent most of my childhood. We walked passed the shops. We passed the houses. We passed all of the familiar things.

I finally made it home. After all these years I just wanted to go back to my hometown and be happy again.

We only went to one shop. It was a candy shop. When we walked in all the familiar scents filled the air. I remembered coming here after school every Friday with my friend Rose. She loved this store. She always said she was going to work here when she grew up.

"Blue? Is that really you?" I heard a familiar voice ask. I turned around to see Rose wearing a name tag. She works here.

"Yes, Rose it's me." I said tears forming in my eyes. She started to cry a little. We hugged.

"I never knew why you left. I was scared. I missed you so much." She said.

"I missed you too, Rose. I have quite a long story to tell you."

"How about tomorrow? At 5:30 we'll go out for dinner and catch up on everything?" She asked smiling.

"Sounds great." I remember that Michael is here too. "Oh and that is Michael" I tell her, smiling at him.

"Hi, I'm Rose." Rose smiles.

"I'm Michael, Blue's boyfriend."

We walked out of the candy shop with a bag full of candy. I looked up ahead and saw my favorite restaurant then I looked back at Michael and smiled.

"How about that date? I know the best pizza place." I ask smiling.

"Sure." He smiles back. He looks the happiest I've ever seen him in awhile.

At the restaurant it all goes well, like a perfect first date should. We tell stories, tell jokes, and eat all night. Just like happier times.

At the end of the night we are back home where I should be, with my friends.

Maybe I don't belong back at home with my old friends and memories. I belong here with my new best friends and memories. This is where I belong.

"Michael, do you still have those bad dreams?" I asked, my head laying on his chest.

"No, they are gone now." He says.

"I wouldn't leave you for anything. I promise."

I can't see him but I know he's smiling.

"We won't loose each other. We'll protect each other. It's what you do when you love someone. I could've died when I got shot a month ago but I just want you to know that in those seconds I had, I was thinking of you. In those seconds it felt like forever and I can't wait to spend that forever with you. I love you."

"I love you, Michael and nothing in this cruel world could change that. You saved me."

Most people would say I finally found my prince charming in shining armor.

And we all lived happily ever after.

They'd say this is the part where I get my happy ending. But this is the real world, not some fairy tale. This isn't the ending, this is only the beginning.
