"Late again?" I glanced at my watch and sighed again for the third time today. I was not very happy to be late again, but it's not like I had a choice. My mother was on a mission and the bus takes longer than teleportation.
I rushed down the halls with my books and late note as quickly as I could when I crashed into a wall. Or at least I thought it was a wall.

"You should watch where you're going," someone growled. I looked up to them in fear, which seemed to have softened his attitude.
"Be careful next time, okay?" it was a boy with kinda long, straight, dark olive brown-black hair and greyish blue eyes, handing me the books that scattered. He wore a blue jacket and had a red cap like hat and sunglasses on them. He reminds me of my own style a little, actually.

I thanked him and grabbed my books. I thought he was late too, then realised that he didn't have a backpack.
"Are you late too?" I asked him anyway in curiosity.

"Got a hall pass," he chuckled.

I smiled back. "I'd better go to class, unlike you, I'm actually late to class."

I walked off and he travelled in the opposite direction. There is something strange about him, I just can't figure it out. I don't even know if he is a hero or villain or not at all.

I have a problem with my skill. I can't see other people's auras - if they had one - while everyone else could as soon as they were chosen. I can with a special gadget my father invented but when I don't have the gadget I cannot tell who is on what side. My mother told me that once I get to stage three in my magic I'll be able to use a spell to allow me to see the auras. But I'm barely just below stage one. It took me years to get simple dark magic mastered, it would take much more to get advanced at it.

For once, I felt jealous of the heroes, they can learn how to enhance magical and physical vision as simple magic, and much more while we, the villains, would need years to practice. But I guess they have the same problem with our dark magic like we do with their light spells.

I made it to class before the end of homeroom and continued on with my day.

Or at least began to.
