Chapter 4 - Serena

Serena threw the ball and ran as fast as she could. She's a sporty person, and in the sports club, a good way to practice her physical abilities for when she's on her missions.
Her speed is extremely high, making her one of the worst villains to fight if you are a long distance attacker.

"Serena!" the blond-haired girl caught the ball again and threw it as hard as she could and ran again.
"Fennekin!" she yelled at her pokemon waiting somewhere on the field. Her head snapped up at Serena's call.
"Use Whirlwind!" the breeze of the attack blew her over to the ball just before it hit the ground.

Pokemon are allowed at school anytime as long as they don't help you cheat in class and on tests or hurt others. They also can't be used in crowded hallways for obvious reasons.

Serena thought it was a bit too much when she first got to the school, but after setting one of the buildings on fire she finally understood and respected that rule. She almost died but someone had carried her out just in time.

Flashback-

(1st Person - Serena)

Smoke. Smoke everywhere. Where is Fennekin?! Oh, I shouldn't have used ember indoors to light the fireplace! It's like a thousand degrees in here, now I'm glad it's winter...

"SOMEBODY! HELP ME! FENNEKIN! ANYONE!" I screamed until my throat was dry, the place seemed to be getting hotter by the minute and I couldn't see the way out anymore. The cabin was so far away from the main campus I doubted anyone would see this fire until I was long dead. I took off all my thick clothes and just left my t-shirt, shoes and skirt on to move around easier.

I finally spotted the exit, leading out into the fresh air and white snow and tried to crawl towards it without blacking out, but the room was just spinning too quickly and all I could remember was losing all my strength and falling.

"Froakie! Use Water Pulse to at least clear a path to her!" a soft voice nearby. Maybe it's just my imagination...

I felt something lift me up after a while. Must be the place crumbling...

"I got her! Come help me and take her to the Fennekin that got us here!" the same soft voice again, this time louder.

Footsteps. Suddenly, I felt a blast of cold and shivered. But I also felt warmth. Human warmth. I felt something else wrap around me and felt a little warmer.

"Fen!" my Fennekin was nearby, and I was glad she also survived.
"Froakie!" she seemed to be talking to another Pokemon, so I guess what happened earlier wasn't a dream.

"Don't worry, we've found you, and we got you. You're safe now," the person carrying me, probably a boy, if his voice is that deep, assured me softly as I heard the steady beat of crunching snow, our breathing and my heart.

I didn't have the strength to open my eyes, but I whispered,

"Thank you."

I dozed off in his arms.
