AN: Hey, hope your having a great week🙃 I'm about to make it that much better with chapter 6😁

The next few days were.... well, the same. Exactly the same. Just like every other damn day. The only thing different were small pecks on the cheeks and quick kisses on the lips. Something new that I absolutely loved. Early mornings and long days of note taking resulted in cuddles while revising. During supper we held hands under the table. And before bed, he'd walk to my room while I was closing the curtains at exactly 9:45 every night and give me a hug and kiss good night. There was no denying the fact he was a gentleman. And there was no arguing that he was amazing.

The days continued, and soon the other children started gathering suspicion. We were nearly caught several times whilst holding hands. Thankfully Millard is invisible, so him quickly releasing my hand didn't look as strange as me releasing an unseen force. And we've had a few close calls when Emma or the little ones who walked in mid-kiss. Millard pulls away every time, just because it's less noticeable.

The person who I think has gathered the most evidence, though, is Emma. Every time I walk out of Millard's room or I walk into the house with him, she smirks. I've made sure she hasn't been able to corner me alone, just because she'd shower me in questions. That has been my plan for the past week and it has worked perfectly. Until I completely lost guard and was yanked into Emma's room after I came back from taking notes. I let out a small yelp and Emma told me to hush.

"Emma was that really necessary?" I asked.

"Of course it was! You've been completely avoiding me all week and I have a rather important question." She started.

"Go on..." I said slowly. She grabbed my hand and sat me on her bed.

"Spill." She said.

"You said you had a que-"

"Just shut up and tell me what happened." She said, cutting me off.

"Emma I have have no clue what your-"

"Yes you do. Now tell me." Her voice became lower "When did you and Millard become a thing?"

"What? Why would you even-"

"I saw you two snogging the other day. I'm not blind." She said smiling.

"Emma, we were NOT snogging." I said.

"Fine, then I saw you two kiss. Better?" She asked. I nodded sheepishly. "Haha! I knew it! I knew it all along! Why wouldn't you have told me?"

"Because you would've made a huge deal about it. We were trying to keep quiet." I say.

"Well, maybe holding hands under the supper table wasn't a good idea then. It's quite noticeable. I'm pretty sure everyone over the age 12 noticed that." She said smirking.

"Emma. Please please please please keep quiet. Please?" I beg.

" I suppose... but why won't you tell anyone?" She asked.

"Because we don't want to!"

"...fair enough." She said. Then she moved closer to me. "I'll cut you a deal."

"W-what?" I stammer.

"I won't tell anyone about this, and I'll kill off ALL suspicions IF you promise to keep me aware of what's going on."

"Deal." I said.

"Great. We'll start now. What happened. How did you how did guys become a thing?" She asked, her eyes anxious.

"One week ago. I went to the beach, rather early, actually. I sat for a few hours. Attempting to convince myself I did not like Millard because he was just my friend. Long story short, he arrived at the beach.., we sat for awhile he asked if I fancied anyone, I asked him, he said yes, then he accidentally told me he liked me." I said plainly.

"That's so sweet!" Emma exclaimed.

"It was an accident though, he probably never planned on telling me. Just like I planned on never telling him."

"But it is still grand that everything worked out. What happened after that? I want all the details."

"He apologized stood up and began walking away, I pulled him back next to me and told him there was no need to be sorry, then I kissed his cheek. After," I started, giving her a glare, "he said you told him I fancied him."

"W-what? I didn't tell him that. I told him I thought you fancied him." Emma said.

"Either way." I said nudging her arm playfully.

"Well, what's happened since then? Anything cute?"

"He uh- says goodnight to me every night at exactly 9:45. He walks in as I close my curtains, wraps his arms around me, kisses my head and says goodnight."

"Awww. I'm glad you two are finally together." She said. "I told you he liked you, didn't I?" I nodded. "And you need to remember I'm your best friend and you can tell me anything." I nodded again.

"I'm really quite tired Emma. I think I should probably head to bed..."

"Why are you always so tired?"

"Early, early mornings." I said.

"Well next time your not terribly tired let me know, you can sleep over in my room." She said. I nodded and smiled at her.

"Night Emma." I said.

"Goodnight."

I stood up and walked to the door. Turning around, I said to Emma.

"And please keep quiet." And with that, I walked back to my room.

I walk into my room and closed the door. 9:42. I sat on my bed and waited. When 9:45 rolled around, I stood up and walked to my window just as my door slowly opened and shut again. I closed the curtains and turned around before Millard had a chance to wrap his arms around me. I hugged Millard tight and he hugged back.

"You broke the routine Y/n." He said, laughing softly.

"I know." I said into his chest. I pulled away and looked at where I assumed his eyes were.

"You know, your pretty damn cute." He said. I smiled lightly and looked at him.

"You know, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you're quite handsome." I earned a small laugh from him.

"If you say so." He said.

"Trust me, I do." I say with a smile. "Are we taking notes tomorrow?"

"Nope. Not tomorrow. We've been taking them for the past five days. I think we deserve a bit of a break."

"Alright"

"I was actually thinking... maybe tomorrow we could go out. Just me and you." He said, scratching the back of his head.

"That would be lovely." I say.

"Great. Then we'll grab lunch tomorrow at noon. Does that sound alright? We can go to the bakery in the village, unless you don't want to then -"

"Millard, that sounds great." I say, cutting him off. Man, that boy could talk for hours if no one interrupted him. He nodded.

"Well then I'll see you in the morning beautiful, goodnight." He said, giving me a quick kiss on the lips.

"Goodnight Millard." I said, returning the kiss. He walked out, closing the door. I quickly scrambled to turn off the light. Tomorrow was going to be grand.
