Chapter 7 - School

Chapter 7

A couple days after meeting the oh so amazing Mike it was time to start at my new school. I woke up to water being sprayed at my face by Danni.

"What are you doing?" I asked sitting up.

"Mami told me to wake you up. I tried calling your name but it didn't work." She said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"So this was your next option not oh I don't know.….. shaking me!" I yelled.

"Don't get loud with me I could have just left you here to sleep through half of your first day of school." She said before walking out of my room slamming the door behind her.

I grabbed some clothes before heading into the bathroom to take a shower. Just as I had turned on the water somebody started rapping on the door.

"Jericho! Jericho!"

"What!" I yelled back at whoever it was.

"Stop taking so long in the bathroom other people have to use it too you know!" From the sound of there voice I could tell it was either Carmen or Alejandra.

"You have got to be kidding me I just got in here!"

"Well maybe if you hadn’t left the toilet seat up we would give you more time. Pero desde que eras estúpidos que incluso no quieren darle el tiempo suficiente para hacer pis!"

"Quit slingin’ that Spanish I can't understand you!" I called back. I was getting frustrated with these girls still being mad at me for that.

"You have three minutes to get out of the bathroom BEFORE I COME IN THERE AND DRAG YOU OUT MYSELF!!!!!!!"

I took the fastest shower known to man after that statement. Even then when I had just finished pulling on my shirt the door slammed open. Thank god there was a towel wrapped tightly around my waist. Alejandra grabbed me by my elbow and dragged me out while I stumbled over my feet. She gave me one final shove before slamming the door shut. These girls do slam doors a lot.

"Aw come on that wasn't even three minutes!" I yelled at the door.

I turned around and almost ran into Mrs. Delgado. Even though she was shorter than me Mrs. Delgado was still my new guardian and she was very intimidating. Also even though she would probably never admit it I think she was a little mad at me for leaving the toilet seat up too.

"Good morning Mrs. Delgado."

"Jericho I prefer it when people wear pants in my house." She said

I looked down at the towel around my waist taking the hint.

"Y- yes ma'am." I stuttered.

I walked into my room and didn’t bother coming out again till I knew it was time to go. I came down stairs and found Mr. Delgado and Dia sitting at the kitchen counter. Mr. Delgado was eating breakfast while Dia was drawing in some sketchpad.

"Oh good morning Jericho you better hurry your riding with the girls and their already outside waiting. And make sure to grab your backpack we put it by the door." Mr. Delgado said. I turned around and was about to walk to the door when I heard the sound of a car speeding away. I turned back to Mr. Delgado who was shaking his head and Dia who was trying to hold back her laughter.

"Was that my ride?" I asked. Mr. Delgado nodded. Dia stood up and grabbed some keys off the counter.

"Don't worry Papi I'll take him." She turned to me and looked me up and down. "Your going to school dressed like that?" She said giving me a weird look.
