Hello again! As you see above, I made a stupid lil collage, that you will get if you've read the Harry Potter series. That reference evoked WAYYYYY too many feels for me. Soz no oneshot today, but instead, 13 songs that I think are PERFECT for Merthur. Not much to say here so... ENJOY! PS: The songs are all random, and haven't been ordered or ranked in any way. ALL CREDIT REGARDING THE SONGS ITSELF GO TO THEIR RESPECTIVE ARTISTS, and as per usual, I do not own and part of BBC Merlin, or any of it's charachters or plot or stuff like that, otherwise Merlin and Arthur'd be doing more than eyes*x each episode.

1) Lose My Mind - Dean Lewis
This song. THIS SONG. It depicts Merthur really well. Lose My Mind, in my eyes, is about loving someone you can never have, fighting to hold something you know you will have to let go, and *losing your mind* and feeling incomplete without your love. Does the situation sound familiar, anyone? My favourite line is "Cause I tried to hold you tight, to make you mine, but lost each time" because it shows how hard Merlin tried to hold onto Arthur, especially when he was dying, but how it was always a losing fight, because of Gwen. It's quite depressing, I know. But the lyrics are awesome, all arguments are officially invalid.

2) Silence - Marsmallow
The music is SUPERB. And the lyrics slot into Merthur really well, especially if you consider this to come from Merlin's perspective. Cause *all his life he's been fighting*, and he found peace in Arthur's slightly violent nature. Lyrics like "Loving only left me alone/never gave me a home" and "So I sit here in the silence" shows how loving had never worked out for him before, and he had to go to lengths to hide the reality about him, except with Arthur, who he had learnt to love unconditionally, and who was one of the few that accepted who he really was in the end.

3) Wolves - Selena Gomez
This is the one Selena Gomez song that really stands out for me, cause the chorus expertly depicts the struggles that Merlin's been through, to protect arthur and be by his side.

4) Walking The Wire - Imagine Dragons
One of my favourite Imagine Dragons. The lyrics are gorgeous, empowering, even more gorgeous, fit Merthur at a spiritual level... I could go on. It shows how Merlin and Arthur are constantly *walking the wire*, and how their love is unstoppable, despite the journey being, as the song puts it, thunderous. And god, this music. A-grade stuff

5) Dusk Till Dawn - ZAYN & Sia
Yet another song that really speaks Merthur. It reminds me of how Merlin and Arthur's relationship was quite rocky at times, but they will alway be with eachother *from dusk till dawn*. I especially love the line "I wanna see the sun rise on your sins, just me and you". Because both Merlin and Arthur have blood on their hands from somewhere, but it was always for eachother, and are the "sunrise" on eachother's sins and its so emotional lemme go cry now five mins plz thats all I ask *10 hrs later* ok im back *sob* nxt song

6) Bleeding Out - Imagine Dragons
This is my top five of Imagine Dragons for me, and if you step into the internet, you can find many interpretations of this song. To me, it was about bleeding out and enduring extra for someone you love, and shows all the lengths Merlin goes for Arthur, even if to could be the *last thing that he does*. And the line "With the darkness fed, I will be your scarecrow" and the lines before that capture how Merlin will always shield Arthur in darkness and when *hopelessness is sinking in*. I really like the line "You tell me to hold on". It brings me back to how Merlin tells Arthur that its his destiny and that he's the Once And Future King Who Will Unite The Land Of Albion™ and how he's special, basically the ultimate motivational talk. In short, I love this song.

7) In My Veins - Andrew Bells
This is one of my favourite from the list. From the heart-wrenching tune, to the superb lyrics, to the voice brewing with emotion, this song has it all, except a direct reference to Merthur, obviously. It depicts how Merlin and Arthur are consumed by eachother and how *they can't get the other out*. It shows you how *everything will change*, and how "all that you rely on will leave you in the morning" but it will always "find you in the day". Specifically, Arthur will leave, but he will find Merlin eventually, and they will be reunited in the end. It's bound to touch some part of your heart, and god please just listen to it. No pressure.

8) Hurts Like Hell - Fleurie
I adore the music at the start of the song, it really sets the mood. It takes me back to how Merlin's *loved and loved and lost* Arthur, and how it *hurts like hell*. The first lines remind me of Merlin revealing his magic to arthur, how he doubts he can can say this *without breaking* and when *its too much for his soul alone*. And how Merlin *can't escape* destiny, and the love that he feels for Arthur. And god, he voice is so pretty.

9) Sleeping At Last - Saturn
Yes, there's a long musical number at the beginning of the song, but it's gorgeous, and the lyrics are just superb. It makes me so emotional no siriusly. Lines like "How life carries on, endlessly, even after death" depicts how Merlin has to live on after Arthur's death, and how he does so because of him. "I'll explain the infinite" shows how there is so much to Merlin, and "With shortness of breath" symbolises how little time they really have. Simply gorgeous.

10) Treat You Better - Shawn Mendes
To anyone who's heard this song before, its kinda obvious why this one's on the list. It's symbolic of the Merlin and Arthur and Gwen triangle, how Merlin can treat Arthur better than Gwen can, and how she's not right for him, and how he just wants to give Arthur the love that he's missing.

11) Just A Dream - Nelly
The good old days when rapping took more than social media popularity and autotune overload. This shows how Merlin loves Arthur with everything in his heart and wants to be with him, but how *it's only just a dream*, because of Gwen. And how he wonders if Arthur will ever come back to him, only to realise it's also *just a dream*. It depicts the hurt Merlin must've felt at watching as someone else takes his Arthur, the Arthur that he devoted his life to protect and be with, and the regret he must've felt at not acting on his feelings before it became too late. Gwen, Imma happy for you and imma let you finish, but Merlin sacrificed more for Arthur and Camelot, and deserves him wayyyyyy more than you do.

12) Let Her Go - Passenger
This is one of those songs that you listen to again and again after a breakup (how would I know since I've never been in a relationship but meh). They lyrics speak for itself, really. How *you only know you love her (him in this case) when you let her go*. It almost reduced me to tears first time I heard it, and it captures when Merlin lost Arthur, when he had to let him go. I love the line "Well you see her when you fall asleep, never to touch and never to keep", cause it shows how Merlin must've dreamt of Arthur so many times after he passed away, but couldn't be by his side like he used to. The line also kinda shows how Gwen prevented Merlin from keeping Arthur, even when he was alive. But basically, this song aces it when it comes to showing Merthur.

13) Demons - Imagine Dragons
Hope you're not tired of Imagine Dragons (don't see why not; they're awesome), cause here's another one. The lyrics do a perfect job at describing Merlin's position. Lines like "Don't wanna let you down, but I am hell bound" really complete the song. I like the idea that the demons can be seen as a metaphor for magic, cause, as much as it is a gift, it is also a curse, burdening and weakening the soul as much as empowering it. The line "I can't escape this now, unless you show me how" shows how Arthur grounds Merlin and keeps him from being consumed by the responsibilities and everything else that comes with being the Most Powerful Warlock To Ever Walk The Earth™. You're welcome.

AN: I know that was short, but what can I say except sorry? As per usual, requests are always open :) Thank you again, for sticking with my book and being patient with me. Till the next chapter.
