"Damnit! They found me."
Sirens blared in the distance as I pulled up my skull bandana to cover the lower half of my face and dropped the red paint can into my duffel bag, zipping it up quickly and hopping off of the platform. I could faintly make out the colours of the police sirens in the distance.
Turning only to look back at my work of art with a smirk. There was a red and gold dragon on the brick wall spewing flames out of it's roaring mouth. His eyes were green and held a fierce gaze guaranteed to unerve any passing stranger. Each chrome scale would glint in the light to make it seem like it was moving, but that would only happen once the sun came up and I was dissapointed that I would not be there to witness it myself. I'd have to come back another day to admire my work but for now I had to avoid getting caught by the authorities. It was the dead of night at the moment and the lights from the police vans flashed dangerously close to my current location. Thinking fast I jumped down and ran for a nearby drain pipe. It was a tight squeeze and not much to sniff at. . . literally, but it would have to do. At least I had the bandana to cover my nose so most of the smell would stay at bay.
The beam of a flashlight shone past the pipe and I squeezed further inside to avoid being seen. A few minutes passed and the cops gave up searching it seemed from the absence of flashlights and silent voices. Once they got into their cars and I could no longer hear the roaring of an engine I decided it was a safe bet to climb out of the repulsive pipe.
My head snapped up as I heard dogs barking. They had only made it seem that they had given up and had brought out the muts. I crawled as far into the pipe as I possibly could, the dogs were visible at the entrance of the pipe and were quickly advancing on my backside. Their white teeth bared and their lips drew back in a dangerous snarl.
My adrenaline pumped pushing me further as I crawled as fast as I could, but somehow there was no floor anymore and I gasped as I fell. The dogs were still barking it growing more faint with every passing second.
All
The
Way
Down
Before I landed painfully on my backside.
"Shit." I groan as I rub my paining ass. I tried standing up and brushed off the grass, leaves and other...things from my hands and clothing.
Hold up. Grass? Leaves!?
I turned quickly when I heard barking and growling. My eyes widening in sheer panic
"How in the hell did they find me!?"
I ran as fast as I could and dropped my duffle bag onto the ground deciding that my life was more important. As trees whirred past me in a blur the sound of ragged breathing and multiple paws beating against the ground egged me on and I ran into a clearing with a brick wall surrounding it. I knew that I had made a terrible mistake. I was cornered. The hounds had arrived but they were no longer ordinary dogs, they were wolves!!There aren't any wolves in New York! What is going on!?
My pink and black leather jacket, leather pants and black crop top would be no help in protecting myself against the razor sharp teeth of a wolf. I knew that. So I had to think of something quickly
Desprate to find a stick or a rock or something that I could use to defend myself, I stopped when a glint caught my eye. A sword stuck in a stone with green vines that had grown around it over time. It would've been poetic if I weren't fearing for my life. I climbed the rock as fast as I could grabbing the hilt and removing it from the stone in one fell swoop. As I did a powerful wave of energy emitted from the sword scarring the wolves away as the whimpered running to the forrest.
I ran a little ways after them, the sword still firmly in hand.
"Yeah you better run ya mangy mutts!!" I let out a short victorious chuckle and looked down at the sword I held in my hand.
I stared at the golden hilt of the sword in amazement. It had an intricate design with two magnificent dragon heads on either side and amber coloured jewels encrusted into the design. It suddenly and without warning emitted a bright light. It was beautiful and the sword itself was changing!?
It slowly took a diffrent form. The hilt design was more or less the same but the blade had molded into that of a long katana. The thrumming of horse hooves caught my attention and twelve riders clad in armor surrounded me. All of them had weapons drawn and had them pointed out towards me.
I said it once and I'll say it again.
"What the hell is going on!?"
