She placed her head on his shoulder, their trousers curled up their knees as they moved their legs, kicking the water in a rhythmic motion.
She glanced up, only to find him staring back at her. His hair fell over his eyes and in the late morning sun, he looked more handsome than ever.
"What?"
He didn't speak and wiped the bits of ice cream that had found its way on her nose. She let out a small sneeze which he found cute.
"Thanks." She said, nudging him with her shoulder playfully.
Her phone buzzed, his eyes followed where the sound came from.
He silently listened to her answer the phone, her voice was wavering and she was on the verge of crying.
He squeezed her hand, immediately their eyes met. Different emotions swirled in his eyes.
Her phone fell from her hands, realization hitting her.
How could she tell him?
That she was promised to another man.
