Shianne's mouth dropped. "You-you're dead?" She asked in the softest voice.

Taka nodded her head and some feathers dropped from her wings. "I'm sorry. I needed to tell you so you could stop Jaguar from killing any other horse before we're too late." She explained, stepping closer to Shianne.

"Bu-but I thought we could be friends." Shianne's heart sunk deep in her chest like a pebble drifting underwater.

"Shianne, we're more friends. We're family." Taka wrapped her large wing around Shianne and nuzzled her before she left. "Talk to me anytime, I'll always be listening." Taka's warm smile faded away with her body as a gust of wind whipped past.

Shianne nodded, this was her journey now. And she has to stop Jaguar.

Shianne burst through the camp entrance, her breathing heavy and ragged. The sun was beginning to lift and the lands were easier to see.

Horses looked at the white apprentice in concern and their ears were pricked with alert. "Shianne!" A horse called and galloped over to her. The horse was Rogue, she seemed so relieved Shianne was home.

"Where have you been? Vixen and her patrol returned without you and I was so worried. I-I-" Rogue hugged Shianne strongly, tears trickling down her face. "I thought you were dead."

Shianne hugged back, she was also relieved to be back home but Taka's words rung around in her head. "Before he kills Rogue. Before he kills Rogue."

She suddenly backed out of the hug, staring at her mother with wide eyes. "I really have to-" She was cut off by her father's loud whinny.

"Great StarHerd! You're okay." He was the next to wrap his neck around hers. Shianne pushed him away and both their eyes were wide with wonder.

"Are you okay?" Apollo questioned, his heart beating hard in his chest.

Shianne shook her head and her gaze turned to the large chestnut who had killed her mentor and her innocents. Jaguar's gaze was as cold as ice. He seemed to be giving a message to Shianne but through his eyes. They read; 'you tell her and I'll kill you.'

Shianne then looked at her parents, she gulped and backed away. "Merrick's dead." She muttered, a random tear falling down her face. Gasps echoed through the camp and horses started to murmur to themselves.

Shianne lifted her sharp glare. She stared down Jaguar who's ears were starting to pin. "And he killed him!"

Horses fled away from Jaguar, pinning their ears and baring their teeth.

"Now, now-" Picasso tried to bring his herd back to sanity but he was too late.

Shianne leaped at the chestnut stallion, raking her hooves through his chest. Jaguar cantered away but Shianne stayed on his tail. "I will avenge my mentor's death!" And with that, Shianne tripped the stallion.

Jaguar caught himself before he fell. He swiveled around and reared high into the air. His large, powerful hooves came crashing down on Shianne. His hooves slammed into her skull, making the world turn dark...
