"Merrick, Shianne. I thought I'd find you here." Jaguar's voice rasped and his vicious glare turned to both of them.

Shianne started to back up, fear swelling in her stomach like a whirlwind. "Jag- Jaguar what are you doing here?" She stuttered. Her silver eyes darted switched to Merrick and back to the large stallion. Merrick was in a defensive position like he knew what was going to happen.

The three horses stood in silence, while Jaguar stared down the red roan. "I've been waiting for this moment." Jaguar's voice was quiet and he stalked up to Merrick.

"Shianne, run!" Merrick whinnied and Jaguar reared high and his powerful hooves came crashing down on Merrick's back. The red roan fell to the ground from the impact, blood spilling out of his spine.

"Shianne, get help!" Merrick's whinnied louder and Shianne plunged into the thick forest before she could see the rest.

Tree vines and bushes snagged at her mane and hooves as she sprinted through the green woodland. Her heart pounded with horror, but she pushed on harder. She couldn't hear anything behind her and knew that Jaguar wasn't chasing her.

He's dead, Merrick's dead. Jaguar killed him. The words echoed in her head and she wanted to scream for help. She wanted Rogue's comfort. She wanted to leave this damn forest.

Shianne forced her legs to move faster but suddenly, she fell. She crashed into a pond, the water breaking under her wait. She sank to the bottom, trying to move her legs to swim but couldn't get a grip on her fear.

She decided to relax and let herself die, but words rang in her head. It's not your time yet. And suddenly teeth gripped onto her mane and yanked her out of the cold water. She was dragged to the side of the pond, coughing up water that had been sucked into her lungs.

Shianne looked around for the horse that saved her life, and a bright glowing mane blinded her. When her eyes adjusted to the bright glow, she spotted a horse with large white wings, brown fur with golden splotches.

"Wh-who are you?" Shianne whimpered.

"Shh, I'll tell you when you've calmed down first. Deep breaths." The mare's eyes were surprisingly silver. Shianne let out some hard breaths and felt her heart go back to its usual rhythm.

"Okay, I'm good." Shianne nickered and watched as the mare waded into the pond. Her glowing white mane lit up the water and Shianne could see grass rippling in the water.

"My name's Whisper."
