Vixen and Shianne met up after they both cooled off and talked out a plan. They were going to send Ashes into NightHerd as a spy and report every night what was happening. Ashes agreed and said his final goodbyes. Shianne admired the bay stallion's bravery, she understood he was taking a large sacrifice.

"Keep an eye out for Kyper, will you?" She asked before he left. He promised and galloped away without fear. Shianne watched his brown pelt fade from view while the others moseyed around.

"I have an idea." Shianne's voice raised and caught their attention. "Once Ashes reports back to us for a few days; we'll attack NightHerd." Vixen's eyes, that were once harsh, glimmered in agreement. She stood up and nodded.

"What are we going to do, charge in there and hope to make it out alive?" Vixen playfully snorted, teasing Shianne about the DustHerd thing.

"I wish it could be that easy." Shianne shot back. "No, but when I was a really young filly my mother would tell me stories about the ancient herds. Pegasi and the Unicorns. The Unicorns were strong, untamed beasts that would stab anyone in the chest. The Pegasi were calm rulers of the skies."Shianne noticed that she had captured the attention of all the group. Milkweed was digging his hoof into the ground for more.

"One day, the Unicorns wanted the skies and called war. The Unicorns knew magic and were very powerful. The Pegasi were stuck until a courageous medicine mare stepped forward and created a weapon called the Berry Bomb. It could blow up anything the thrower wanted to destroy." She explained and Vixen interrupted.

"So, why haven't they used them in other wars. Such as the Prince war or the other one we had a few years back?" The chestnut mare wondered, her tail lashing by her side.

"Let me finish." Shianne hissed and continued. "The Berry Bombs turned out being brutal, yes, they got rid of the Unicorns, but the bombs were hidden away so they would be never used again." Shianne saw the excitement fade away in Vixen's eyes.

"Really?" Vixen rolled her eyes. "I thought we actually had a chance of winning." She slumped back down, her ears returning to a normal position.

"If I could talk to Taka and see if she'd get them for me..." Shianne's voice trailed off and the rest of them didn't care.

The sky was turning to a black, another night. Shianne thought, looking up at the full moon. Milkweed stood next to her, also looking up at the stars.

"Will you tell me some more legends?" He questioned in a quiet voice. Shianne was surprised to hear that from him. The toughest, apart from Picasso, stallion she knew, wanting to hear foal's stories?

"Sure. There's one about a brave pegasus named Rain. He was a dark bay stallion, like you." Shianne saw a smile form on Milkweed's lips. "He was the youngest deputy in history and he led a squad of pegasi bravely into the quarters of the Unicorn's camp."

Milkweed leaned forward for more, Shianne didn't understand why he was so interested in stories but she thought maybe because he didn't have a good foal-hood. "He lead them in to try and hold back the Unicorns inside their camp who were also controlling the soldiers. Rain thundered in bravely, killing the leader's son, Elm, which made the leader falter which stopped the war for a moon or so." Milkweed's eyes glistened with pride, Rain was probably his favorite legend.

"Because of Rain, the medicine mare was able to have enough time to find the Berry Bomb and win the war." Shianne finished up, leaving Rain's death out of the story.

"That's amazing." Milkweed nickered.

"I know. Legend says he's painted among the stars. The brightest star is his head since he had a large star on his forehead." Shianne pictured the tough looking stallion. But she couldn't get the image right. "When you find that, you'll be able to see his body. Especially his wide wings."

Milkweed's gaze immediately looked up and Shianne could tell he wanted to find Rain. "Sorry I bothered you, I bet you're tired. My mare never told me stories and my father was dead before I could meet him." Shianne felt pity for Milkweed. He was such a nice stallion, built finely, very calm and collected, and he was gentle. (Those stallions are hard to find.)

"No problem. I'll tell you another tomorrow if you want." Shianne walked into the trees and laid herself down for a deep sleep.
