Shuichi's POV
Time flew by with Kaede. I didn't want to leave her side. For some reason, we clicked so easily. It was a relief being with her and I never had to pretend or anything of the sorts. After I had chased her to get my hat back we went to the game room to play some games. Instead of playing video games, we decided to do something else.
"So, what games do you want to play today?" I asked her.
"Mm... I don't know. Hey, you know what? Let's try something different than a video game today," She stated and starting walking across the game room.
"Alright, what is it?" I asked her. I then realised she was walking to the air hockey table. "Air hockey?"
She gave me a smile and got to one of the sides of the air hockey table, facing me. I smiled back, getting on my side. I grabbed one of the strikers as she did as well. She continued her smile.
"Are you ready? I don't think you're ready," She said. I laughed.
"I don't think you're ready," I played along. Her smile darkened, but in a cute way.
"Well, we'll see about that," She said and moved the puck to the middle of the table. She kept her finger lightly on the puck, giving me one last gaze before letting go. It moved towards me and I roughly hit it towards her. Just like instinct, she hit it back. It was an ongoing battle, both of us fighting fiercely on the air hockey table. I was literally about to break a sweat from how concentrated I was and from all the harsh movements. I didn't mind though.
"Haha! Yes!" Kaede threw her arms in the air as it seemed I missed hitting the hockey puck as it slid in my goal.
"Hey, you haven't won yet," I say with a smile. Her cheers had already ended and she looked at me.
"Is that a challenge?" She looked at me curiously.
"Yes," I said. I got the hockey puck out and put it in the middle of the table. I looked up at her again and she smirked.
"Challenge accepted,"
We fought as minutes and minutes passed by. I got some goals as she did too. Before we knew it, it was 9 against 9, the person who won the next round would win.
"Wow, this is very pressuring," I say, looking at both of our scores. Both at 9 huh? I wonder who will win.
"Yeah, it kinda is," She chuckled. I smiled at her and she put the hockey puck on the table again.
"Are you ready?" She asked, letting me get prepared. I took a deep breathe, got into position and nodded. She gave me a quick grin before quickly letting go and getting ready to guard her goal. This round must have went on the longest as we both were too afraid to stray too far away from our goal.
I watched as I hit the hockey puck towards her. She moved to hit her striker with the puck but it brushed past her striker, slipping into the goal. She looked down with wide eyes.
"Yes! Haha, that was a good round," I say, laughing. She sighed.
"Well.. that's kinda depressing," She looked up at me and smiled. "But, that really was a good round. That was super fun," She chuckled. "Rematch?" She grinned.
"I would but I would for sure lose, that was only luck," I stated with a laugh. She laughed too.
"Okay okay, then how about just another game? We'll see if you are really the king at air hockey," We laughed together.
"Alright," I agree and then got ready to play another round, sliding my points back down to zero. She did as well and grabbed the puck that had earlier fell into her goal. We gave each other grins as she set it on the table. She let it go and the battle began once again.
After a few minutes, the puck slid into a goal.
"Yes!" Kaede exclaimed.
"I'm not letting you win," I said with a smirk and quickly grabbed the puck. I set it on the table and she got ready for the next hit.
It was surprising how intense we got, how concentrated we were. The atmosphere was fun and cheery, but also intense. But in a good intense. As more time went by, it seemed we had a winner.
"What? You won again?" Kaede asked. I laughed.
"I guess so," I laughed. She joined my laughing.
"Alright 'King of Air Hockey', you win," She said with a chuckle. She leaned over and unplugged the air hockey table. She gave me a smile then wiped her forehead.
"Is it bad I'm sweating slightly?" She asked, laughing after her words. I shook my head.
"No, I'm sweating too," She giggled and we stared at each other for a moment. I gazed into her soft, purple eyes. Her eyes smiled back into mine and I looked away, trying not to make it awkward.
"Well, I guess we can do something different now.." I state, sitting my striker in front of me.
"Yeah," She leaned over, putting the puck in the center of the table. She then put her striker in front of her like I had. She ran her hand through her hair as she looked down. "I think I'm gonna take a shower. Get all clean," She said before smiling up at me.
"Oh. Alright," I say. "I'll do the same," She continues her smile and starts walking out of the game room. I follow her and we soon start walking in sync. After a while, we finally reached our dorm rooms. I walked her to hers. Once we reached her door, she turned around.
"Thanks for walking me here and spending time with me. It was really fun, my little 'Air Hockey King'," She said with a smile. I blushed underneath my hat and chuckled.
"Yeah, thank you. It was fun," I said, my cheeks still hinted with rose. She tilted my hat up and kissed my cheek.
She turned around and gave me a side glance. "See you later," She said and unlocked her door. My blushing was darker, but I kept my cool.
"See you around," I said. She entered her room and before shutting the door, gave me a small, cute grin. I grinned back and the door softly shut. I smiled to myself before walking to my own dorm.
