Old Crush..?

Chapter 1

Mitch's POV

I awoke to the sound of All Night playing on my alarm. I slapped the alarm and went to the closet to get some clothes. I grabbed a plain grey shirt and some jeans. I walked to the bathroom, and took a nice shower, the scent of my pumpkin body wash clinging to me. I got out and put on my clothes, then my black converse, which could be in better condition. I walked into the kitchen, grabbed an apple and slung my backpack over my shoulder. When I got to school I threw what was left of my apple away and went to my locker, where Hailey and Melissa were waiting. "Hey guys" I said and opened my locker, putting things away, and grabbing things. "Did you forget?" Hailey said looking at me with disbelief "forget what?" I asked confused looking at them " the reading homework?" Melissa said looking at me "OH nah I did it" I said grinning like an idiot. The bell rang and everyone was scattering to get to their classes. I had chemistry with Hailey and Melissa first. When we got in we were just a few minutes late. "Why are you late ladies?" Mr. Newton said looking at us as we made our way to our seats. "Sorry sir, I woke up late" I said sitting down. I looked over and saw Hailey and Melissa nodding "I'll let it slide, only because it's the last week of school" He said turning back around and started droning on and on about random things. After class I walked out to algebra. When I got to the class, I sat in the back and pulled out my book. It was Harry Potter deathly hallows. Finally after quite a few more classes, the bell rang. I walked out of class and back home. I got a text and looked down to see a text from Melissa.

Melissa: Hey wanna hang out with me and Hailey at the Cafe down the street?"

Mitch: Sure

When I got to the Cafe Hailey and Melissa were already sitting down. I sat next to them and begin reading my book. They both ordered but I didn't. We started talking for a bit "so, we need to tell you something" Hailey said looking away "what?" I asked looking at them worried "well, we're going to a... New school for high school" Melissa said looking me, then away. "What, why" I asked looking at them and setting my book aside "we're so sorry, but we need to study Marine-biology and the school we're going to is best for that" Hailey said. I got up and walked out of the Cafe, going back to house without saying a word, even when my mom asked what's wrong. When I entered my room I slammed the door shut and threw my book on the floor; it made a loud thud and a riiip, I'm pretty sure the cover was ripped but I didn't care. I threw myself on my bed and my face started turning red. "Why didn't they tell me sooner? Why didn't they try to have all of us in the same school?.." I thought. The more I thought, the more I got frustrated. I could feel my face red hot and some liquid rolled down my face; they were tears, I quickly wiped them off and started facing facts. This was bound to happen, we would one day get separated, I knew it was gonna happen but why so soon?.. All these questions whirled around my mind, yet no answers could be found. I racked my brain, thinking of what to do. Whatever, it happens with all of my friends,this wasn't gonna be any different. I don't know how long I've been laying here. An hour or two? I heard a knock on my door; I sat up and saw my mom with a plate of food.

"Honey, are you busy? Dinner's ready" she almost whispered. I turned away, for her to not notice my face (I'm pretty sure my eyes were red and so was my face) I heard the clatter of the plate against my desk next to me, I looked over at the plate; chicken with mashed potatoes. "It's okay, I understand you're busy" my mom said as she was walking away, shutting the door slowly behind her. When I heard the door close behind me I looked over at my plate, as I did my stomach growled. I looked at the plate longingly, but looked away and laid back down. As I was lying on my back, I looked up on the ceiling "where did it all go wrong?" I asked myself aloud. I grabbed my phone and checked the time, 6:03, I guess there's time for a quick walk? I stood up, eyeing the plate. I grabbed the fork and took a small bite of mashed potatoes before walking out my bedroom door. My stomach growled again, but I ignored it and kept walking. "Where are you going?" I heard my mom say as I opened the door, "Just a walk to clear my mind" I replied and closed the door behind me, just hearing my mom say okay. I walked down our lawn, and took a left when I reached the sidewalk. As I walked I saw a SOLD sign on the house next to mine, guess someone moved in. M.r Gallio used to live there, until he passed away, he was around 83 so it's natural. I looked and saw some lights on, so they must have already got their stuff in the house. I shrugged and kept walking, when I heard someone call my name. "HEY" I turned around and my eyes widened. It was Hailey and Melissa. They live blocks away, did they run here? "We wanted to apologize for earlier, and treat you out to anything" Melissa said, looking at me with sorry eyes. I merely nodded and let them pull me wherever they were going. I swear I saw movement in the corner of my eye, but I shrugged it off as my mind playing tricks on me. When we reached our destination I almost screamed, I forgot the fair was in town. We all looked at each other, then ran in. I text my mom telling her the situation, and she was okay with it. "We're really sorry, but this will hopefully help" Hailey said looking at me, then pulling me towards the ferris wheel, my favorite. I got on first and picked a good seat, Melissa got on, then Hailey. We were up so high, when I decided to break the silence. "Guys I'm sorry I ran, It's just hard to hear your friends are moving away" I said looking around at all the rides, lights looking amazing in the semi-dark. "It's okay, I just hope you forgive us" Melissa said smiling. I smiled back.

We've been here for around 2 hours. We've played so many games, rode so many rides, and laughed like psychos. When we parted ways to go home, we all high-fived. Good thing my house was close to the fair. When I opened the door dad was home and eating at the table. "How was the fair" My mom asked hugging me "It was great! And someone moved in next door" I said and started walking to my bedroom. "That's nice, and maybe we can bake them some cookies" Mom said walking towards the door, probably to get supplies. I walked upstairs and opened my curtains, then the windows. When I looked out, I realized there was a window right across from mine. I cocked my head to the side staring at the window. How did I never see it before? Suddenly the curtains from the inside were opened and the windows were opened. "Trying to check me out with X-ray vision?" Standing there, was a guy that looked my age, but slightly familiar.. "Uhm, I was just looking at the window, I didn't know it was there before" I said looking away then closing my window, and the curtains. What a weirdo...
