I DON'T OWN THE ARTWORK!
Nick and Judy walked to the coffee shop that was across the road from the police station. Her ears drooping down behind her head, she was too tired to hold them up. Nick still hadn't noticed that his shirt wasn't tucked into his pants. Neither of them were full of energy.
They got home around eight last night, but the Dumb Fox wasn't satisfied with retiring early. No. No. No. He invited Judy to crash at his place and watch movies. Of course she agreed, but first she had to go to her apartment to grab her uniform first.
He had intended for them to pick up where they left off in Bunny Burrow. But it didn't have the same atmosphere as before, so they wimped out. Two movies into the marathon, they both passed out on the couch. Judy's head was on one end of the couch, and Nick's on the other. The only reason they didn't wake up late was because she involuntarily kicked him in the side while she was sleeping, which sent him jumping off the couch in fear.
They scrambled to get ready, with just enough time to grab coffee. They were running on three hours sleep, and both their phones were at like thirty percent charge.
He held the door open her. "Thanks, Fluff." She murmured, shuffling through the door.
"You're Fluff." He corrected her.
"Does it really matter?" She yawned. He'd never seen her this out of it.
Nick went to the counter where a bright eyed and bushy tailed she wolf greeted them. "I'll have one large blueberry coffee with a triple shot of espresso." He looked at Judy. "What do you want, fluff?"
"A large carrot coffee with a quadruple shot of espresso." She yawned, resting her head against the counter.
"Carrots, I think that's too much caffeine for a wittle rabbit." He replied.
"Shut up, and order my coffee, Nicholas." She said sternly.
"Fine. One large carrot coffee with a quadruple shot of espresso." Nick ordered.
"That'll be eight dollars, please." The she wolf said.
He slid her a ten, and she handed him his change. A few moments later, she handed him their cups. Nick put the lid to his lips, and started guzzling.
"Yuck!" He choked. "This is carrot coffee!"
Judy sleepily sipped at the coffee, the blueberry flavor hitting her taste buds. It was sweet, and refreshing. She couldn't believe she'd never thought to try it before.
Nick jerked it out of her paws. "Oh no you don't. No way I'm drinking this poison you call coffee." He handed her her coffee.
She chugged the hot liquid, hurrying it's arrival to her brain. Tossed her empty cup in the trash and headed for the ZPD. "Hurry up, Nick, we're going to be late!" She ordered.
He trailed behind her, savoring his coffee. The lobby felt off without Clawhauser at the reception desk. Gangly timber wolf, Wolfburg was filling in for the time being. Judy hurried to the bull pen, caffeine coursing through her little body. When she walked into the room, the other officers were in an uproar.
"As if we needed more work." Gus Grubber, the warthog, snorted. "Couldn't she have waited until this big case was solved to send the city into disarray?"
"Love isn't convenient." Andrea Skipper, the young antelope, said with a sympathetic sigh.
"Are you condoning her behavior?" The warthog asked in disgust.
"Who am I to judge?" She asked. "Bounds and I have been dating for six months now."
"What?!" Gus asked, dismayed at the thought of an antelope dating a camel.
