Mr and Mrs Vancura were an ordinary couple. They fell in love, got married, then had a beautiful little baby girl. After their baby was born, they started looking for a bigger home.
They were ecstatic when they found a lovely house next to a forest. Mrs Vancura loved gardening, and his husband was glad to be away from the city noises. The air was fresh, the grass was as green as possible and there was a lot of space for the baby to run around and play.
They came, they saw, and they bought it.
What they didn't know, is that there was a big and powerful pack living in the huge forest next to them.
Werewolves. They were shocked when their new neighbours told them about those creatures.
The couple instantly wanted to start looking for another place, but Mr Brown convinced them to stay.
"They won't hurt us if we don't intrude their territory. They usually keep to themselves, I haven't seen a single wolf here for years. You might hear howling at night, but that's it. You're safe, I promise."
They weren't sure he was telling the truth, but they decided to trust him anyway.
So they moved into their new house and carried on with their lives.
Rhea loved playing outside. She was a little adventurer, but her parents held her back. She didn't understand why they wouldn't let her go to the woods, she just wanted to see what it was like. It was so close to the house too, she could've been in and out in no time.
One time she got really close though. So close, that she swore she saw something in there. Something golden glowing in the dark. She became so curious, but her mother caught her before she could investigate the mysterious glow.
As she grew older, she eventually gave up and accepted the fact that the forest was off-limits.
Her bedroom was downstairs, and she had a perfect view of the forest from her window. Sometimes, when she couldn't fall asleep at night, she stared outside, wondering what could be hiding behind those trees.
"Probably something dangerous," her conscience told her, so she tried to fall asleep instead, hoping she would get her answers one day.
