Who invented high heels? I just want to talk.
I turned around, looking at myself in the full-length mirror.
The green dress that Ares got me clung to all the right places, flowing out from my waist and ending around my mid-thigh. I had no problem with that, the heels, on the other hand, were a different story.
I could walk in them, don't get me wrong, but it certainly wasn't a pleasant experience.
My hair fell down to my shoulders in loose curls, and I had a feeling that they would come out by the end of the day.
I was kind of nervous when Ares told me about that "pack party" we had to attend to, but I didn't really have a choice.
Managing to walk down the stairs without breaking my ankles, I began searching for him. My search wasn't long, though, he revealed himself when he heard the clicking of my shoes.
"You look mesmerizing, love," he complimented me.
I would have returned it, but I was kind of frozen. Ares was wearing all black, the first few buttons of his shirt undone. His hair was styled, but it looked kind of messy, which was a very good look on him in my opinion.
I bit my lip in embarrassment, realising that I was basically checking him out. And probably drooling.
A smirk appeared on his lips, then he took my hand and we walked out of the house.
We passed the pack doctor's place on our way, then a bit later we arrived in front of a huge house that was even bigger than Ares'.
"This is one of the pack houses," he explained. "They are homes for those wolves who passed the age of eighteen, but are still unmated."
I nodded, taking the new information in, then we climbed out of the jeep and walked up to the entrance.
We didn't have to knock, the door was open, music coming out of the building. There were a lot of people there already, who all bowed their heads once we came inside.
Ares tightened his hold around my hand, leading me through the crowd towards the garden, which was also filled with people, but way less than the inside.
"Ares, finally!"
Two men around his age came up to us, each of them holding a plastic cup in their hands.
"Guys," Ares nodded with a smile, then he looked down at me. "Rhea, I would like to introduce you to my friends, Darwin and Hammond."
"Luna," they bowed their heads, greeting me.
Both of them were tall and muscular, but Darwin had dark brown hair, while Hammond's was a lighter shade.
"Hello," I greeted them, smiling politely.
"We are so happy for you two," Darwin smiled happily.
"Not just us, everyone!" Hammond joined in.
"Thanks, guys, but I should go and introduce Rhea to a few other people as well, so if you don't mind..."
"Of course, Alpha."
Both of them bowed their heads, said their goodbyes, and walked away.
As Ares was leading me towards some new people, an arm was dropped around my shoulder, tearing me away from him.
"Welcome, lovebirds!"
As I turned around, my eyes fell onto a familiar face.
"Hi, Eros," I chuckled.
