Opening my eyes slowly, the sound of loud footsteps hit my ears.
The bedroom door flew open, revealing a worried looking Ares.
When he saw that my eyes were open, he rushed next to me.
"Thank the Moon Goddess," he glanced up, letting out a relieved sigh as he took my hands into his. "How are you feeling, sunshine?"
"I- I'm fine," I whispered, my voice still weak from sleeping. "Why?"
Ares gave me a small smile, stroking my hand with his thumb.
"Darling, you were out for three days now."
My eyes widened.
"Really?" I asked back, having a hard time believing it.
He nodded.
"I'm so glad you're awake now," he pressed a light kiss on the back of my hand. "I was afraid I would lose you."
A smile crept up on my lips. Seems like he really did care about me.
"Well, you didn't. I'm afraid you're gonna have to put up with my annoying self for a while."
He shook his head with a smile. I was surprised when I saw a tear escaping from his right eye.
"Hey, now," I reached up, wiping it away with my finger. "Don't cry, I'm okay."
Pursing his lips together, he gave me a serious look.
"Don't you ever scare me like that again, understood?"
"Yes, Sir."
He sighed, then he leaned down to press a kiss on my forehead.
"Can you get up?" He asked, studying my body with worried eyes.
"I think so," I nodded, sitting up slowly.
I felt okay, just a little weak. And hungry.
"You should go freshen up, while I make some food for you. You must be starving."
He supported me into the bathroom, where he had a hard time leaving me, but I promised him I had enough energy to shower without his help, so he left.
I took a look at myself in the mirror, and let's just say, I was surprised he had the stomach to even touch me looking like that.
My hair was greasy and all over the place, there were dark circles around my eyes, my body sweaty from the heat of the covers.
I decided it was best if I looked away, so I undressed and stepped inside the shower.
Taking my time, being careful not to pass out or anything, I washed my hair and body. It felt good.
When I was done in the shower, I stepped out, wrapping a towel around my figure. With the intention of taking a brush to untangle my hair, I turned back to the mirror, and that's when I noticed the mark on my neck.
I would say that it was pretty, but I'd be lying. It looked like I got a hickey from Big Foot or something.
I guess it wasn't that far from the truth, though. I did get it from a werewolf.
In the middle of the purple and blue spots, I could see the two dots where his fangs were.
Breaking my eyes away from Ares' work, I turned my attention back to my hair instead.
I dried it, which already made a big improvement to how I looked before. Flicking it behind my shoulders, I dried the rest of my body as well, then I put on a comfy pair of black leggings and a baby blue, oversized sweater.
