Jungkook and Jessa walked down the street in silence. She didn't know what to say to him. Eventually he broke the silence, "So you're in photography?"
"Yeah! I've heard you like photography as well?" she glanced up at him.
"Mhm, I bought my own camera but it was lost in the fire," he pulled a sad face then laughed a bit when he saw the concern on Jessa's face, "Don't worry, I'll get a new one soon."
Jessa chuckled and pulled out her camera from her bag. She lined herself up to get a perfect shot of the beautiful empty street light lit street. She took the photo and stopped to check and see if the image turned out alright. Jungkook went close to her and looked over her shoulder. She found feel his hot breathe on her neck as he observed, and she felt weak at the knees. In the bottom left corner of the photo was a hand giving the peace sign.
Jungkook laughed, "Oh wow, didn't think I managed to get it in there on time."
Jessa laughed and would keep the photo as a memory of their first day together, "Here Jungkook, I want to see how good you are," she said handing her prized possession over to Jungkook.
He carefully took it and put the strap around his neck, turned to Jessa, and clicked. Jungkook stopped and smiled at the picture. Jessa looked over at the photo, "Oh no, please delete that I look awful."
Jungkook looked at her then back at the photo, "I think you look cute," he smiled his toothy grin, and handed the camera back to Jessa. Her face was as red as a ripe apple but it was thankfully dark enough that Jungkook couldn't see it.
To get him back she snapped a quick picture of him when he wasn't expecting it. She looked at it and to no surprise Jungkook managed to look really handsome. Jungkook laughed and looked at it, "Wow you are good, I've never looked better," he joked.
Jessa couldn't deny it Jungkook was indeed extremely good looking.
Jungkook and Jessa continued in silence up until the crosswalk where they waited for the green man to signal they could walk. On the other side of the street were three men that were obviously drunk, stumbling and pushing each other, talking loudly.
The signal turned green and Jungkook looked down at Jessa with a concerned look. As the two started walking Jungkook kept Jessa very close to his right side with his arm over her shoulders trying to block her from the sight of the three men as they past. His efforts failed and the three men started to cat call Jessa. Jungkook's fist clenched tightly and Jessa held tightly to his jacket.
"Hey! You got a sexy one, kid! Where'd you find her?!" Their words were slurred and panic began to swell in Jessa. Jungkook picked up the pace to reach the other side of the road quickly. He glanced back to see the men thrusting the air towards Jessa.
"Perverts," Jungkook whispered under his breathe. Jessa tried to turn her head to look at what Jungkook was so disgusted by but he gently guided her head forward with his index finger, "You don't need to see that. Come on we're almost there," the concern on Jungkook's face disappeared and was replaced with a smile.
Jessa's heart fell from it's fearful state and she felt safe beside Jungkook. She then realized how close the two were standing and she used the excuse that she wanted to take a picture of the night sky to release herself from his grasp. Even after he let go he kept himself close to her.
They finally reached the restaurant at 10:00pm. A young waitress recognized Jungkook and gave them the nicest booth in the restaurant. When the girl came to take our drink orders she was so fixated on Jungkook that she didn't ask what Jessa wanted to drink, only Jungkook.
He ordered a glass of beer and the waitress left the table. Jungkook had a confused look on his face and quickly turned to Jessa who slumped her shoulders and picked up her menu. She met eyes with Jungkook, "It's okay, I wasn't thirsty anyway."
"You can have some of my drink if you change your mind," he said peeking over her menu. Jessa nodded and they both laughed and continued looking through the menu.
Jungkook and Jessa both decided what they wanted to eat but Jungkook still held his menu up. The waitress returned and asked what Jungkook wanted to order. He looked up at the fan and then to Jessa.
"Could you take her order first? I'm not ready yet," he said. Jessa looked at him with confused eyes, and the waitress turned to Jessa and looked as though she hadn't noticed she was sitting there.
The waitress seemed embarrassed, "oh, I'm sorry, what would you like to order?" Jessa smiled and her and pointed at the chicken burger on her menu, the waitress jotted it down and quickly turned back to Jungkook, anticipating his answer.
Jungkook ordered the chicken strips with a side of cheese sticks, the waitress listened to everyone of his words like her life depended on it, the waitress nodded and went back into the kitchen with our order and Jungkook started piling cream packages on the table into a little tower.
"You must get that behavior from people a lot when you're out in public," Jessa said as she passed Jungkook the packages one by one as he stacked them.
He had just finished stacking the last one, "Mhm, I do love my fans, I really do. But, when I'm trying to have a day to myself it can be overwhelming. You know?"
Jessa nodded and they returned to their silence.
After a few minutes the food finally arrived, the waitress placed the plates down and left quickly after telling us to enjoy the meal. Jungkook was trying to hold back his laughter, as he turned his plate of chicken strips around to show Jessa that the waitress had rearranged them in the shape of a heart. Jessa laughed but felt uncomfortable with the gestures from the waitress.
Jessa's throat began to feel dry and reached for Jungkook's smoothie just as he was; their fingers met at the glass. They both pulled their hand away and apologized, Jungkook gestured for her to have the first sip. So she did, Jessa didn't enjoy the taste of alcohol but on the rare occasion she would indulge in the bitterness. She placed down the drink and he drank from the other side of the glass. Jessa's mind raced with the thought of his lips on hers but her thoughts were interrupted by the waitress asking how the food was.
They finished their late night supper and Jungkook paid for both of their meals; Jessa noticed that after Jungkook signed the store's copy of the receipt, the waitress slipped it into her apron pocket. Jessa laughed into her sleeve as they left the restaurant.
During their walk home there was only the sound of their feet walking in unison down the empty street. Jungkook kept glancing over his shoulder just in-case there were any more drunk hooligans roaming the streets.
They both arrived at the apartment safely and Jessa was exhausted from the long day of travelling so she decided to unwind in her new massive bathtub and go to sleep soon after. Jungkook stayed up late and cleaned up the rest of the house, and putting away the last of the boxes and slipped into bed at 1am.
The sleep was refreshing for them both, and so were their new roommates.
