Jungkook helped Jessa up and offered to carry her bag for her, she politely declined. Jungkook coughed into his fist out of embarrassment from the rejection. Jessa pushed on his arm, "It's not that heavy, I can manage."
He flashed a quick smile, "Let's go."
They left the building and onto the street; wind gusted Jessa's hair into her face and some flew into her mouth. She tried to frantically fix her hair, then Jungkook took her hand away from her face and straightened it out for her. He smiled a smile that showed half of his bunny teeth, and pulled out one of the strands that had entered Jessa's mouth. The two of them laughed and began walking down the street. Jessa trusted that Jungkook knew where he was going and didn't question any of his direction choices.
To get back to the apartment they had to cross through a busy area, full of cafes, stores, and restaurants. As they walked onto that street Jessa grew more nervous at the amount of people and worried someone would recognize the idol walking beside her. Jessa looked over at a cafe with a small sitting area outside and sitting at one of the tables was a group of high-school girls. The typical high-school girls that one would see in a drama.
Jessa's heart sank when one of the girls looked over at her then up at Jungkook; his features stuck out like a sore thumb. The girl got her friends to look over and they started screaming his name. Jungkook was startled and began panicking. He grabbed Jessa's hand and started to quickly push through the crowd of shoppers. Jessa glanced back and they girls were gaining on them. Jungkook looked down at her and could see she was very worried. They were too close to their house to go straight there, if fans found out where Jungkook lived the two would never have any peace and quiet. Jessa worried about Jungkook's reputation, as it would be tainted if it was discovered that he was living alone with a woman instead of his members.
While being dragged along Jessa jumped to see over the crowd and she could see an alley up ahead that didn't have any people turning into it. She then pulled Jungkook's hood over his head and pushed him down so he appeared shorter and edged them both over to the side of the sidewalk closest to the alleyway. As they passed it she pulled Jungkook into the alley and shuffled behind a trash bin. The girls came running around the corner and Jungkook ducked, tripped over Jessa and finding himself kneeling over her with his hands on either side of her head. They were hidden by the shadow of the trash bin.
"Where'd he go? Did you see where he went?" the girls bickered, "Maybe it wasn't actually him?"
"I could have sworn it was him," the girls continued to bicker and one by one they walked away from the way they came.
Jessa tried to move to get up but Jungkook pressed his body down closer to hers. The heat from his breathe sent shivers down her spine but she didn't move. He checked to see if the girls were gone; when the coast was clear he slowly removed himself from her. Jessa raised herself up, wincing slightly from the sudden fall to the pavement.
"You aren't hurt are you? I slipped on this trash bag and I-" Jungkook said, he voice groaning in concern and guilt.
"I'm okay, really," she laughed looking down to his knee, "Jungkook, you're bleeding!"
He reached for his knee and hissed at he touched it. Jessa scrambled into her bag and brought out a small handkerchief to wrap around it until they got back to the apartment.
Jessa supported a portion of Jungkook weight until they made it back to the apartment. Jessa opened their front down and sat him down on the couch.
"You have to film your broadcast tonight. Are you sure you can dance with your knee like that," Jessa asked as she ran to the bathroom to get the first aid kit.
Jungkook waited for her to return to the couch, "I should be find Jessa, I've performed in worse shape before."
He laughed, but Jessa continued to put ointment and a proper bandage over his knee. Once she finished Jungkook tried to get up from the couch but was pushed back down by Jessa.
"Your manager told me you had to eat before you go to the broadcast," Jessa smirked as she made her way over to the kitchen.
Jungkook turned with his arm over the back of the sofa, "You aren't my slave, I can make myself food," he smiled in disbelief.
"I want to make you something," she smiled, he nodded and shrugged in defeat.
Jungkook watched the television while he patiently waited for his food to be ready. Jessa prepared him a sliced rice cake soup. Jungkook thanked Jessa for the food and they both ate silently while watching an episode of Law of the Jungle which featured Jin.
Jungkook looked at the time and had to get ready for the broadcast. He got up and went into the bathroom with some clothes. Jessa cleaned up the dirty dished and by the time she finished, Jungkook was ready for go to the shooting of his broadcast. Jessa turned around and fixed her eyes on Jungkook.
"Wow," slipped from her mouth and Jungkook smiled.
"What, do I look good?" he asked striking a few funny poses.
Jessa laughed and started to feel her cheeks going hot, "Let's just say you don't look bad."
Jungkook nodded with accomplishment, and went to put his shoes on. Jessa scooted over to the door, "Good luck tonight, don't work too hard or your knee might start bleeding again."
He stood straight and put his hand on her shoulder, "I'll be fine," he tapped the bottom of Jessa's chin with his finger, scrunched his nose and head out the door.
Jessa couldn't stop smiling and thinking about Jungkook for hours after he left. She tried to edit some photos on her computer but couldn't concentrate so she started watching some of BTS' music videos which lulled her to sleep.
It was dark in the apartment when Jungkook got back from filming, except for a small slit of light coming from underneath Jessa's bedroom door. He tiptoed over to the door and opened it a touch; Jessa was slumped over her desk asleep with BTS' music still playing quietly from her laptop.
Jungkook though it was a cute sight and gently closed her laptop, ceasing the music. He then picked up Jessa and laid her down on her bed. He slipped off her slippers and put them neatly on the floor beside her bed. He pulled her bed sheets over her and tucked her in, brushing the hair out of her face when he finished. He knelt for a moment stroking Jessa's small face gently. Jessa's groaned slightly and Jungkook held back a laugh then got up slowly to leave.
"No...don't go," Jessa moaned, still fast asleep.
Jungkook stopped, sat back down, and sang softly until he his eyes were too heavy that he retired to his own bed.
