Wait, what? Did you say Jay Rollins? Or did I hear it wrong? No. I'm positive that was it. It was this guy's brother who'd bullied my Jake.
How the hell am I supposed to react to that? The irony, lies in the fact that this is the very guy whom I'd wanted to give a piece of my mind and I am supposed to hate him. I wanted to talk to him at that very instant but obviously couldn't. Mr. Andrews would probably get mad.
Probably? Yeah, who am I kidding? He'd definitely give me detention or something.
After an eternity of dealing with the algebraic ghosts, bell rings. It is lunch hour. So, everyone is excited to leave. I spot Jay completely lost in the realm of his cellphone who immediately begins walking towards the door.
"Hey, wait up!", I call over his shoulder. He doesn't seem to listen as he seems to be lost in a reverie.
"Jay?"
Still no response.
"Jay?!", It is more loud this time.
He stops and turns around, raising his eyebrows.
"Yes?"
"I need to to talk to you about something."
"I'm too busy. Later.", he says rather too quickly to respond and starts to walk faster, almost running.
I have never met someone this rude in my entire life. This makes the grudges that I held against him and especially his brother even more stronger.
What was so important anyway? It was not like he had some class or anything. What was so important that he was almost running ? Sure does seem really fishy.
I don't know why, but my instincts keep asking me to follow him. Not that I have stalker issues or some. No, I couldn't. I am supposed to meet up with Edith and Cody anyway.
"Boo!", someone hollers behind my back.
Edith. What is she, like five?
"Oh my, you almost gave me a heart attack!", I said, in a sarcastic tone. She just stifles a laughter.
"Whatcha doing here? Cody's probably waiting."
"I know. I was just glaring at Rollins. Boy, isn't he rude!"
"Wait, you talked to Jay?"
"I was about to, when he cut me off. Said he was busy. He was in a hurry to get somewhere I guess. I don't know"
"I see", she eyes skeptically. She begins tapping her fingers lightly over her chin. I know exactly what that look meant.
We both exchange a nefarious smile with each other..
"You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Hell yeah!"
The next thing I know, both of us take the stairs to where Jay is headed. We can't find him anywhere. Edith has texted Cody that we'd show up late.
"I'm sure he went that way", I point to the right, where I'd seen him take a turn.
I'm not gonna lie. It is slightly creepy up here. There's literally no one down this hall. It was like it was abandoned or something.
We almost decide to drop the plan of trying to follow him and just get back... That, my dear friends, is when the brilliant detective, Edith St.Claire spotto.... DRUMROLL..... a letter jacket lying on the floor.
I would bet you a fortune, that it belonged to Jay effin' Rollins!
As we pace closer, we find the jacket to be lying in front of an old dusty copy room.
They have got to do some cleaning up in here!
We hear weird noises and then all of a sudden, it was like a table was made to fall. My heart skips a beat. We see a tiny little window.
"Okay, you're the short one. Also, you practically look like you weigh ten pounds. Get over me and tell me what's going on." and so I did as I roll my eyes at her earth shattering comment (which happens to be true).
She lifts me up. It was probably like carrying a little kid for her. Also, not to mention how tall she is.
Oh. My. God!!!!
I am shocked to see the view in front of me! I release a gasp of terror.
Jay Rollins is hooking up with a guy !!!!!!!!!!!
Holy cow!
This is major news!
Oh my God. Who would have ever thought that Jay Rollins is gay!
"What do you see?"
"It's Jay. He's making out with some dude."
She almost makes me fall, although, catches her balance back.
"Holy shit. Get a picture of that. Hurry!!"
Wow, she thinks fast! So I get my phone out as soon as I can. I position the camera and click the picture. That's when I realize, the flash is on!
"Motherf...", I curse under my breath.
It is too late. Jay saw us . Edith immediately drops me and we begin running like our lives depend on it! I see a silhouette chasing us. He is too fast. I didn't know what to do. I gather the first thing that comes within my hand's reach and throw it at him with all the force and might I could muster. A voice moans in pain.
We make it downstairs and immediately get away and take a seat in the cafeteria, pretending like nothing happened.
"Did you get it?", Edith asks me, panting. I am panting too. I check my phone once again. Thank God. It was a still picture. I was afraid that it had gotten a little shaky.
"Ya!", I reply half panting, half smiling.
"This is major information. We have got to post that pic"
"No, Edith. We can't just do that. I mean that's like awfully rude"
"You think that's rude. What do you know about him anyway? Do you have any idea of how big of a bully he is?"
"I know that. But I am thinking of a lot of suffering here, Edith. I don't think we're on the same page"
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Well, we could use this picture as a torcher device!"
"A torture device? Are you serious?"
"You know what I mean...we can use this against him. We can get our work done by the means of this very picture. If he doesn't agree, well...you know the rest"
"Ooo. Evil. I like that!", a smile creeps up on her face.
"Well, it's not exactly evil. It's just revenge, for whatever he has done. Including Jake. I won't let him get away with it!"
"Nice thinking"
"Were you two girls bailing on me?! Tell me honestly, cuz I can live with that. Oh my God! I know what this is. You're planning to cut me off and form an alliance together and-"
"Oh, cut the crap, Cody. We are not planning to end any friendship with you", Edith rolls her eyes and sighs.
"Good. I thought so.", he says, relieved and takes a seat next to us.
"Wow, aren't you a drama queen?", I chuckle.
"Oh trust me, this is NOTHING! You should see him when he gets real mad. He goes all melodramatic and quotes all cheesy dialogues from movies.", she bursts out laughing.
"No, I don't!"
"Yes, you do!"
"Oh forget it! Where the hell were you two??"
"You won't believe what we just saw!"
