"Wow, I didn't know that", I say feeling selcouth.
"Well, not to sound edgy, but Cody's a rich kid"
"Oh. Okay?", well now that's new.
"I'm bored. We've been hanging out in this mall way too long. And, I'm starting to feel that they think we're stalkers or something..."
"Ha ha...Yeah. I guess. Hey, you know what, the restaurant I work at is right around the corner. C'mon. I'll show you."
"Ooh. You never told me that you work at a restaurant! Are you a waitress?"
"No. I sing actually."
"What? Really? How come you never told me that?!"
"I guess I never got the chance."
"I earn by stacking CDs and you get to sing?"
"You're the one who gets to watch free movies"
"Not really. It's a CD store. Not if-you-work-here-you-get-to-watch-free-movies store!"
"What do you enjoy doing, anyway?"
"I more into sports. I love to swim"
That explains the body, I thought to myself.
We make it to De Tour. Edith has already been here many times on several occasions, apparently. I show her the spot where I sing. There is some other woman singing. She has a daedal voice, which is so soothing to my senses.
I talk Edith into staying for a little bit longer. I want to devour myself with that amazing voice. Might as well get to learn something new.
A few moments later.
"Can we go now? Please? I'd rather sit here and watch you sing."
Was that an insult? I honestly don't know and couldn't care less.
"That would be tomorrow."
"Okay, then. Tomorrow. Let's get going.", she looks like she would pee any minute. She sounds that desperate.
We are just about to get up and leave, when two random guys walk up and stand infornt of us, blocking the path. One of them has a shade of sandy blonde hair while the other has a dirty dark brown. The latter just could not stop smirking whilst staring at Edith.
"Hi. Excuse me", he says to Edith. She is too surprised to say anything.
" I just saw you from over there and was wondering, do you have a name or can I call you mine?"
As if a quick reaction to a chemical experiment, Edith instantly blushes and her lips creep up into a coy smile.
Sorry, but I couldn't hold it back anymore. I burst out laughing. Sure it was really cute and any normal girl in my position would have gone 'Aww..' But, I don't know why, I just feel like laughing.
Cheesy much?
"Vanessa!", Edith glares at me.
"Sorry", I say holding back a smile.
"Hi. I'm Edith", she outstretches her hands.
He takes it and replies, "I'm Max. This is my friend, Chris."
That's when I notice that this Chris guy is staring at me. He doesn't even bother to stop when I look at him. So, I just raise my eyebrows and look away.
Awkward.
"This is Vanessa", Edith gestures towards me.
"Hi, Vanessa", it was Chris. I could clearly make out the smirk he is trying to hide.
