Track Him Down

I wake up eager to get to the closest computer I can find. I'm going to find out who this guy is and I'm going to need all the help I can get. I turn my phone on and text Maya and Jaden. I tell them to meet me in the library parking lot. They were going to help me find this guy. I take a shower and put on my clothes. I get all of my things and run downstairs. I don't have time for a big breakfast so I fix me some coffee. Coby comes downstairs rubbing his eyes.

"Why are you up so early ?", he asked yawning. "Important reasons.", I tell him. "What's the reason ?", he asked. "I'm going to find that guy I met last night.", I say smirking. "So, does that mean you'll be home late today ?", he asked. "No, I'm just going to spend most of my Saturday at the library.", I tell him. "Well, I'll be at Caleb's today.", he says. "Spending the night ?", I ask him. "Is it ok ?"

"Yeah, but when you come in the morning it better be before 12:00.", I tell him. "Got ya.", he says. "Well, I gotta go. Keep the door locked when you leave. Take your key and no illegal shit.", I tell him. "Ok I got it !", he says playfully rolling his eyes. "I love you", I tell him. "I love you more."

I kissed his check and I grabbed the car keys. I walk out the house and go to the car. I put on some music as usual. I put a smile on my face. I don't smile a lot. I have good reasons why I don't, but today is special so I'm happy. I bump to "Catching Feelings" by Justin because I'm clearly in my feelings for a boy I barely know. (Play the song above) I get to the library and see Jaden and Maya standing outside the entrance to the library. I walk up to them. Maya, who is still worried from last night, runs up and hugs me. Jaden is confused but is happy to see me.

"Oh my god Y/n are you ok ? Where did you go last night ? How did you get your car back ?? Did he try explaining to you ?", Maya asks with her hands on my face. "I'm fine. I ran off. I walked back to get my car and yes, he did but I never looked at his messages. And they're still not open at the moment.", I tell her pushing her off of me. "What happened last night ?", Jaden asked me. "I don't wanna talk about it b–", I try to say but Maya tells the story.

"Y/n liked this guy named Jake and he liked her but on the day we met you before then, we saw him talking to another girl. Then later he told Y/n to meet him behind the bleachers but she didn't want to so I did and he canceled their movie date they had. So when me and Y/n went to the movies ourselves we saw Jake and the same girl kissing and hugging and we realized he canceled the date to go with this girl. Y/n ran off and I didn't see her anymore until now. She wouldn't answer my calls or texts. So yeah, the end."

"That's rough. Just letting you know all guys aren't like that.", Jaden tells me. "I hope you're right. But anyways, I called both of you here so you can help me with something.", I say. "What do you need help with ?", Maya says. "I need some help tracking someone down.", I tell them. "And who is this someone ?", Jaden asked.

"I bet it's a guy.", Maya says. "It is.", I say. "It's the stranger I'm always seeing around town. I met him when I ran away last night. We sorta bump into each other.", I say blushing. "I'm confused.", Jaden says. "It's a guy I'm always seeing walking around the town. He wears a cap on backwards, a tank top, saggy pants, gold chains, and shades. He has hazel eyes and brown hair.", I tell him and his eyes widened.

"Well what are we waiting for !? Let's get in here and start research !!", says Maya.

We walked in the library. It was a few people here. 2 guys on the computer, 1 girl and guy studying together, and one girl on her laptop with earbuds in her ear. There was 2 computers left so we used them. We sit down and get settled but we have no clue what to do. I guess I didn't give enough detail. That's when Jaden stood up.

"Are we researching or not ?", he asked. "Y/n give us more detail.", Maya says. "Yeah, what was going on around you when you and this guy bumped into each other ?", Jaden asked me. "Well, it was dark a bit. I saw three other guys running past us. I also saw them with black mask on and he had one too. Then, I saw three police cars. It was like he was a runaway prisoner.", I say. "When I asked him would we meet again, a guy he ran with yelled McCann.", I tell them. "Is his name McCann ?", Maya asked. "That sounds more like a last name to me.", I tell him. "Well what do you think his first name is ?"

"I would say a Drew.", I said. "Nahh I think Bruce.", said Maya. "More like a Jason.", Jaden mumbled. Me and Maya looked at him. "I just uhh......let's start searching up some names."

Jaden looked unsure. He was acting like he knew something but didn't wanna tell us. Maya payed no attention to it cause she was eager to figure out who our Stranger was. I watched him carefully. He was thinking and talking to himself. I stopped paying attention and started going through books of criminals and celebrities. Then I heard Maya. She motioned for me to come.

"I think I might've found something !", says Maya a bit too loud. "Shhhh !", said the librarian. "Sorry.", Maya says. "What did you find ?", Jaden asks. "I found a website naming all the McCanns in the world.", she tells us. "You think he's on here ?", I ask. "I wouldn't be so sure about t–", Jaden says but Maya cuts him off. "I'm positive he's here. Now you sit here and start scrolling down."

I sit down in the chair and I start scrolling through names. It started in the A's. It took forever to scroll. Then I saw someone who looked like an older version of the stranger. It said "James McCann". Could that be his grandfather ? Or great grandfather ? It turns out it was neither. It was his father. So, if that's his father then which son is he ? It said he had 3 sons. Eric, Jason, and Bryce. I wonder which is my Stranger.

"I think it's Eric !!", Maya says shaking her head. "It's not.", Jaden says not looking at us. "Why do you say that ?", I ask him. "Cause it says right there that he died 3 years ago.", he says pointing to the computer. "Damn it.", says Maya frowning. "Well, is it Bryce ?", I ask. "I don't think so. It says he's a business man. And he's wearing glasses and he has hair slick back. You said that the stranger had a quiff and always wore shades."

"So that means my Stranger is Jason McCann ?", I say. "Yep ! Let's read about him.", Maya suggested. "It says Jason McCann is a nineteen year old gang leader that sells drugs and street fights. The police has been looking for him for three years now and still no sign of him. If found the reward money is $100,000,000."

"Oh shit.", Jaden says. I can't believe what I just read "He's a criminal !?"
