Wanted: A Jason McCann Story

Come With Me

Things have been okay and dangerous at the same time. Jason and the boys are still doing their gang duties and sometimes my brother tags along. Well, only when they need him to. I get nervous every time Jason leaves. I get scared that he'll never come back and Maya feels the same about Jaden. I sit pacing the floor waiting for the guys to come back. I'm starting to worry Maya.

"Y/n would you stop it !", she yelled. "I can't Maya ! What if Jason's hurt ? What if Jaden's hurt ? What If Domo is hurt. What if Coby is hurt !?", I say running my hands through my hair. "I know you're worried but haven't they always come back safe and sound ?", she asked. "No ! They've come back with bruises all over, and sometimes cuts !", I say. "That's not what I meant. They came back alive don't they ?", she asked. "Yes but st–", she cuts me off. "No buts ! They'll be here before you know it and they'll be just fine."

For the rest of the day me and Maya spent the time eating the rest of the junk food we had left and talking about our future. She was telling me how her and Jaden were so close to doing "it". I'm happy my best friends are dating actually. I could be their personal therapist. I tell Maya how I might be developing feelings for Jason. I think the feelings started when I first saw him. I don't know. It was just something about him. After talking for what seemed like an hour, the boys all came running in.

"You guys gotta hide !", Jason says. "What why !?", Maya asked. "They found our hide out. That's why we need to get outta here and spilt up until it's safe to come back.", Domo says. "Well Jason, what are you doing ?", I ask him as my heart pounds. "They're after me, so I gotta flee.", he says. "He's a wanted criminal remember ?", Coby says. "What, no ! You can't leave Jason !", I say trying to stop him. "Y/n, he has no choice", Jaden tells me.

"You don't want him to go to jail for life do you ?", Maya asked me and I shook my head no. "Then grab some snacks so we can head out to the down basement.", Domo tells me. I hesitate and look around as everyone is grabbing stuff and running. "Jason please ! I need you !", I yell.

Jason stopped. He turned around and ran to me. He hugged me tightly and I hugged back sobbing. I don't want him to leave. Not now at all. I want to tell him how I really feel. I have to do it. If I don't then he'll never know how I feel about him when he walks out that door. He released from the hug and continued to pack. "I'm sorry Y/n. I've been wanted for 5 years straight. If they catch me, they could lock me up and possibly throw away the key.", Jason says.

"There's no other way sweetie.", Maya says. "We need to leave and fast.", Domo tells us. "The cops are on their way and will soon be surrounding this place.", says Jaden.

I watched as everyone ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. I stood there watching Jason who was almost out the back door. I can't lose Jason already. It's now or never. "Jason McCann, I love you !", I scream. He turns around and looks at me. "What ?"

"I love you. And if you walk out that door, I'll probably lose you forever.", I say as my voice cracks. "Awwww !", I hear Maya say. "We can figure this out Jason. Just don't leave. Don't leave me. Please.", I say as a tear manages to slip. Jason walks up to me and grabs both of my hands softly. "Come with me."

"You want me to come with you ?", I ask him shocked. "Yes, runaway with me ! I'll have you back before you start 12th grade. I'll make sure you graduate. Come with me Y/n.", he says with a smile. "But, what about my brother ? I can't just leave him without no one to watch him. Social services could come to our house and he's there alone.", I say looking at Coby. "I love you sis. You can go. I'll stay with Maya.", he says kissing my cheek.

I hug Coby and wipe his tears. I turn back to Jason and grab his hands. "I'll go with you Jason.", I say with a smile. "Yay ! Now move out !!", Jaden yells.

Jason grabs my hand and we run. I look back at my brother as I see him crying. He gives me a weak smile and I return one and wipe my tears. I don't want to leave my brother but I got to do what I got to do. Everyone went to the down basement. Me and Jason go up to the roof. We see cop cars coming this way. Me and Jason crawl down a ladder on the other side of the building.

Once we're down, we run down the street hand in hand. He stop at a black truck. Jason unlocks it and we hop in. Jason grabs my hand again. I look at him. He caresses my face then leans in. I've been waiting for this. We lean in and kiss. It was so passionate. I've never been kissed like this before. I felt sparks shooting inside me. We released from our kiss.

"I didn't get a chance to tell you in the building but I love you too. Whatever happens to us, I just want you to know I'll be here to protect you.", Jason tells me while holding my hand. "We're in this together.", I say with a smile. "Together. I got you babe."

I smiled at Jason and he smiled back. He kissed my hand then he let go. He turned on the car. We drove to the airport. He bought our tickets and everything. Now we're on a plane going who knows where. Me and Jason kept holding hands and kissing. He has a big heart. I wonder where he's taking me.
