A storm hit just as the infected began to disperse. I decide to slowly climb down the tree, and then I used it as a perch to watch them. I decided to take out the two runners with my bow, leaving the rest which were clickers and I quickly and quietly rushed forwards, passing the cabin and running towards the road. I clamber over the metal barrier, jumping down onto the tarmac. I look to my left, before looking to the right and seeing a sign. Jackson 7 miles. I take a deep breath at the realisation of how far away I am.

"Not too long, but not too short...we can do this" I mumble, only loud enough for me myself to hear. I hear an loud engine coming this way and I dive quickly over the barrier, hiding. I suddenly see the lights as they speed past, I do not see the people driving, however I do watch as one of the clickers I pasted rushes out in front of it and causes it to swerve into a tree on the other side of the road.

"Shit..." I mumble and I watch as the clicker starts bounding on the now smoking pickup truck.

I listen as I hear gunshots and then the other 3 clickers come running, more like stumbling, out of the treeline. I watch carefully, wondering whether to interfear, but I don't have to because an arm appears from the smashed window, a male arm, holding a gun, shooting the clickers down. I gulp as the door gets kicked  open and I shuffle back as the man appears, greying hair, stubble, sharp features as far as I could see. He reaches back in.

"Charles....Sue..." He says, looking into the car.

"D-dad" I hear someone call and I watch as the father pulls out a girl, she looks about my age, brown hair dragged back into a raggy ponytail, a black and red checkered skirt, rolled up at the sleeves with buttons, shes carrying a black hoodie in one hand and a odd rainbow backpack in the other, her jeans are ripped a little on the right knee and they're a light blue. Her feet are covered with black, slightly faded to grey, army boots. Her father seems to have on black jeans, bootcut, his feet covered by workboots like Joels, and he wears a grey t-shirt, a backpack slunge over his shoulders.

"Come on, lets move away from here" he says and I watch as they start running towards me. The skies turning orange with sunrise, however, its still dark. They flick on torches and keep running. The girl gripping onto her fathers hand as they run. I watch them run past, but the girl turns just enough to see me in her torch light.

"Dad..." She calls, stopping and walking slowly towards me, her Dad following. I gulp, standing and he holds out his gun.

"Don't shoot..." I say and he squints at me.

"Make me" He says and I notice a small walkie-talkie on his belt. It beeps quietly and he takes it, pressing a button and a woman's voice sounds out.

"James, come in, do you read? How far away are you?" She says and I look round, checking for infected.

"Not far, a few miles, we've crashed...Me and Casey are the only ones left..." He says and I look at Casey, who's pulling on her hoodie.

"Casey" She says and her Dad scowls at me as I climb over the barrier.

"Ellie" I say and she smiles, I look at her warily as she takes out a small 9mm pistol and reloads it quickly. I watch as her Dad sighs.

"Just get back to us, we'll keep the guards on post, they'll look out for you" She says and I sigh.

"We're bringing in a girl" He says and I raise my eyebrows.

"Who said anything about me coming with you?" I say and he realses the button, knowing the woman would have heard that.

"Listen here kid, I don't think its safe for you-" He begins but I laugh.

"I was nearly killed and turned into dinner by cannibals, I've survived a night in the forest, avoiding infected and I watched my frie-companion, and his friend get torn to shreds" I say and Casey looks at her Dad.

"Leave her" Casey says and her Dad walks forwards and grabs my arm.

"Move" He says and I roll my eyes as he shoves me forwards.

"You're not my Dad" I say, looking over my shoulder as him and his daughter walk sie by side.

"Listen girl, I've just been through hell, and I need you to move" He says and I turn on my heels.

"My name is Ellie, and you have no idea what I've been through, so FUCK YOU!" I scream and then I hear it, the moving of feet, the waking of the infected. I shrug at a now shaking Casey and her father. I turn and start running. I pull my gun from the back of my jeans, running along side the barrier and I step up to a tree, using my hands and feet to climb. I manage to get high enough and then I watch as Casey runs towards me.

"Help me! They got him!" She calls and I roll my eyes, grabbing her hand and pulling her up to a safe enough level. The infected don't seem to be following, so I help her down, she falls most of the way down anyway and then I climb down, putting the gun in my jeans before hand, and grabbing my switchblade. I stare at the girl whos almost my height, I flick the blade out and hold it up. She pulls out the gun and points it at my head.

"You shoot that, those infected come running, you'd risk your life to kill me?" I say.

"I'd kill you, for my father" She says and I lower the blade.

"I'd kill you for my best friend" I say and she lowers her gun.

"I need to get somewhere, and I can drop you off on the way, how fars this place?" I ask and she points towards a sign.

"You have to go off at the next turn" She says and I nod.

"Lets move then" I say and I decide to lead her towards the next turn, she follows behind and then I turn to her.

I sigh, then say, "Don't speak to me, just walk"

And thats a wrap!
