I truly appreciate the positive responses I've received with this story. I had a bit of trouble with this chapter. I knew exactly how I wanted to end it but, the beginning was giving me a bit of trouble.
Agnes stood shocked at this newest revelation. Rage unlike any she had felt before seemed to course through every part of her body.
There standing before her was her husband's whore.
This girl was the start of her world imploding she thought as she clenched her hands into fists. She once again took in the girls appearance every feature on her face and every curve on her frame.
Greta was at least 5 inches taller than Sang her figure perfectly hourglass in shape. Her eyes had a slight slant to them giving her a almost feline quality. Full lips shaped in a child's bow and a small beauty mark at the corner of her mouth that she had missed in her first panicked appraisal all combined to create a picture of flawless beauty.
Her lip once again curled as she took in the look of amusement that lit Greta's eyes at her obvious appraisal.
A well of vitriolic words began to work there way up her throat like lava but just as it was about to be spewed forth something pleasant entered her mind and a self satisfied smirk replaced her frown.
"Your dead whore!" she spat out with satisfied glee forming on her face but just as quickly as that statement left her lips another less pleasant thought flitted across her mind wiping away the smirk that had just graced her lips.
"Yes" Greta said " I am indeed dead." lifting her hands she gave a small golf clap and in a voice laced with sarcasm stated " You finally stepped out of your perpetual state of me me me to notice. Good for you."
As she saw Agnes gearing up for another round she spoke again " I think the question you might want to ask yourself is how can you see me." her head again tipped to the side in curiosity she asked "Why Agnes? Why do you see me now?"
"No!" Agnes said shaking her head her breathing becoming rapid. A million thoughts flitting through her mind as her lips continued to repeat "No no no" but every time she said the word her voice became weaker and more unsure.
Greta looked on her face taking on a slightly sinister look that coupled with her angelic features was frightening.
" I can assure you there have been countless times I wanted you and Richard to see me" her lip curling in pure disgust at the mention of Richard Sorensons name.
Agnes was in such a state of denial and building despair that not even her husband's name on that girls lips could bring her out of it.
More memories of that night began to filter in the sharp pain that spiked in her skull. The sensation of falling and as the darkness began overtaking her the sound of the doctor and nurses moving to save her life.
" I'm dead" she said finally regaining focus. The words forming reluctantly from her stiff lips.
Once again she looked at her rival the beautifully formed nightmare she had been trying to crush to dust for the last decade of her life.
"Yes" Greta said a small smile tipping the corners of her mouth. Her face set in a look of pure satisfaction.
"What is this place?" Agnes asked confused eyes taking in her surroundings " It's so bleak. Heaven isn't supposed to.." before she could finish her sentence Greta threw back her head and let out a full bodied laugh that seemed to almost echo on the desolate beach.
"Heaven?" Greta asked a look of disbelief on her face. Lifting her arm and extended it to showcase what surrounded them she asked "You think this is heaven?"
When Agnes offered no reply she continued "No this isn't heaven." and then holding off on saying more watched with a sense of perverse satisfaction as Agnes Sorensons faced shifted from confusion to terror and hopelessness.
She paused for a moment to soak in that look. Her mind going back to all of those times over the years she was forced to stand by as this psychotic bitch put that same look on her beautiful little girls face.
Then she thought of the task at hand and pushed the pain of those memories away. Agnes was on her side of the veil now unable to ever cause her darling girl pain again.
Her Sang was free of one of her greatest roadblocks to the happiness and fulfillment she was always meant to have. The thought of her daughter and her 9 wonderful soulmates filled her with contentment.
She looked at Agnes once more blanking her face of all emotion. It was time for Stepmonster to start her journey to her final destination.
All of her former bravado and sarcasm was now gone and in its place she saw confusion, fear and a vulnerability she hadn't thought the other woman capable of.
Seeing the tremble in Agnes lips and hands she couldn't help but think to herself "Yeah bitch you have no idea"
