Sorry guys this turned into a long one.

Dead the word continued to reverberate in Agnes brain on repeat as if it had been recorded. Somehow a cruel imp had found it's way into her ear canal and hit the play button.

Looking over still in her shock induced fog she was unnerved to see Greta staring at her. Her face blank of all emotions and an unblinking stare that she swore could see inside to the very core of her soul.

It was unnerving for her to say the least to look into those eyes and that face. A face that she hated more than anything on earth.

She mustered her resolve and pulled herself together using all of the bitterness and hate she had. Allowing it to move through her heart and mind to make itself at home again in her perfectly willing vessel.

As she felt the familiar warmth move through her veins a deep sense of contentment and comfort filled her. She welcomed them like the friends and constant companions that they had become after all these years.

Hate and bitterness were truly her best friends. When her husband betrayed her tricking her into raising his teenage mistresses parasite. She leaned on them to give her the strength to do what needed to be done.

When the cancer invaded her body weakening her body and mind. Her companions gave her the boost of strength she needed both physically and mentally to punish and snuff out the filth that lived in Sang.

She had to if only for her Marie's sake.

She was glad to have accomplished one thing before she died. Insuring that Marie had grown into the fine young lady she had become. Her daughter could now go through life without the taint of her sister poisoning her life.

Feeling more like herself she lifted her chin and prepared to face her enemy once more. The nerve of this slut trying to imply she belonged in hell. Agnes wasn't the underaged temptress seducing husband's and breaking homes. Lifting one eyebrow a look of disgust on her face she addressed Greta "I'll ask again where am I?"

"Isn't it obvious" Greta asked " We're on the dark bizarro side of Neverland " she said in a sugary sweet voice. "Why I'm expecting Tinkerbelle any minute now". Greta smirked watching as Agnes turned red in the face a large vein bulging in her forehead. Even though she felt like she could do this forever she knew that it was time to begin. So after a moment she begins to prepare herself for what came next.

"Agnes" Greta said " As much as I'm enjoying your gracious company it's time to go".

"Go where?" Agnes growled " I'm not going anywhere until you answer my question"
As soon as that statement left her lips the already muted parody of the sun began to darken further. A strong wind appeared as if from nowhere and the black ocean began to ripple no longer holding the appearance of solid obsidian stone.

Agnes watched in a mixture of horror and fascination " What's going on?" she asked fighting to keep her tangled hair out of her eyes she turned back to Greta who stood bathed in the only true light to be seen. Her golden hair flowing gently around her face despite the strength of the wind. She stood calmly watching the scene before her with a composed and unbothered air.

" You will go Agnes whether you want to or not" Greta said with authority and finality in her voice.

"Sink or float?" Greta asked freezing the blood in her veins.

She begins to slowly back away from Greta shaking her head in denial " No" she shouted "I don't understand".

Greta shaking her head in exasperation replied "Fine. Since you won't decide it will be decided for you".

As Agnes continued to step back the sand beneath her feet began to change until it was the consistency of quicksand. Before she could raise her feet to take another step the ground beneath her began to suck at her feet pulling her down.

She was calf deep by the time her shock wore off and she started to try to fight her way out. Her desperation reduced her to a wild animal trying to fight it's way out of a trap. She screamed and thrashed in frustration clawing around her for anything she could use in her futile attempt to pull herself up. When her body had been submerged to her shoulders with exhaustion beginning to take hold she raised her head.

Before her watching as she sank to her chin was Greta. At some point she had decided to sit down to watch the show. The sand beneath her firm and pristine her legs drawn up to her chest her head resting against her knees.

When she realized Agnes had given up she straightened her legs and stood. Gracefully making her way to the edge of the pit so close that if Agnes could still lift her arms she would be able to reach over and pull her out if she wanted to.

Wanting to scream but unable to open her mouth now fully submerged and her nose not far behind. The last sight Agnes saw before she was forced to close her eyes was Greta standing over her watching as she quietly sank below a smile on her face.

Greta watched until Agnes Sorensons body sank completely into the ground. Not lifting her eyes until the quicksand pit had disappeared replaced by a solid patch of sand. As she turned to walk away the muted black and grays that had covered the landscape began to lift. The sand around her feet was now tan. The ocean before her a Caribbean blue and the sun shown in all it's glory.

Taking a moment to lift her face to the sun and breathe in the smell of the ocean Greta made her way to the small sailboat that had been waiting down the beach. It had been shrouded in the gloom that once covered the landscape.

Climbing in and taking a seat she looked out over the sea contemplating what came next. The sails raised and the boat steered itself towards her destination. She looked over to the other side of the boat and the seat meant for Agnes. In her pride and stubbornness Agnes had unknowingly forfeited her last taste of mercy.

The boat ride to the underworld no matter what your destination was quite enjoyable.
For those bound for heaven it's a little perk but for the damned it's the last shred of peace they will ever know.

When she saw Agnes again she had a feeling she would truly understand her situation. When compared to her new home that little incident on the beach will seem like a picnic.
