When we got to the school, I parked next to Ander. I turned to the building, and it was way different from what I was expecting. It was better.

I took the keys out of ignition, got up, took off my helmet, and just starred until Ander snapped me out of it.

"Nice, isn't it?" I nodded. "Don't get your hopes up. The inside and the people aren't as nice." He smiled at me. "Do you want me to show you to the office?" Right after he asked the bell rang.

"No. It's ok. I can find it. Besides I don't want to be the reason you're late for class." I smiled back at him. But he started to frown. "Don't worry. I'll text you if I get lost or need any help. Ok?" His smile started to come back.

"Ok. Just be careful of the New Moon pack kids." His warning was spoke in a stern tone.He walked up to me. I didn't know what he was about to do. But after that thought, he was hugging me. "Love you, sis."

"I love you too." When he let me go, he looked me in the eye.

"Good luck." Then he grabbed his bag and started to walk toward the building behind us, before I could respond.

I grabbed my bag, slipped my leather jacket off and put it and the keys in the bag. Then slung it over one of my shoulders.

I started to walk toward the biggest building, guessing the ofice was in that one. When I started to go around the corner a boy running in the opposite direction crashed into me. Knocking the both of us to the ground.

"Geez...Watch where you're going." he said. His eyes were shut and he was rubbing his forehead as he was getting up.

"Me?! You're the one who didn't notice someone was right in front of you, and was running!" I got up and looked around. My bag was knocked open and my things were flung every where. And before I could say anything about it. He opened his eyes then his mouth.

"Oh, God. I'm so sorry." He was just starring at me.

"Ugh..." I leaned down and started to pick up my stuff. "You should be!" That's when he got down and started to help me pick up my things.

"You aren't from around here are you?"

"You finally noticed?!" I retorted.

"Hey, I said I'm sorry. Here look. I'm Jai." He stuck out his hand. I took it.

"Selene." And shook it. Then started to put things back into my bag.

"Wow. That's a really pretty name. Wait. Like the moon goddess?"

"Exactly like the moon goddess."

"Cool." He picked up my leather jacket and handed it to me. "You ride?"

"Ya. Just got it today."

"Hey? Anyway , where you headed?"

"The office." He started to laugh. I don't know why but I started to laugh along with him. "What's so funny?"

"Well,..." He cleared his throat trying to stop laughing. "You're going in the wrong direction."

"What?!"

"Yup. It's in building A. You're walking to building D."

"Ugh... You got to be kidding me."

"Hey? If you want I can walk you there."

"Yes. Thank you. That would be extremely helpful."

"Ok." He stuck out his hand. I started to guess he was trying to be a gentle men when he looked at my bag. I handed it over, and he slung it over his shoulder and began to walk. And I was beside him. It was starting to become an awkwardly silent.

"By the way, I like the hair." Jai tried to break the silence.

"Thanks."

"So...You're new here?"

"I guess you could say that. And I'm guessing that you aren't."

"Correct. I'm a senior. Last year in this hell hole. Thank God. What about you?"

"What are you gonna do when you get out of this place? And I'm a junior."

"Um... I guess join the family business. What about you?"

"What kind of family business. And I don't know yet."

"Uh...being the head of a company. And trying to beat our competitor. You know this is starting to sound like 'twenty questions'."

"Yea." We both laughed. "You wanna continue the game?"

"Sure."

"Ok. It's your turn."

"Hm...What do your parents want you to do?"

"Huh..."

"What?"

"It's complicated."

"What is?"

"Well, I was abandoned when I was a baby. And when I was found multiple families tried taking care of me. None of them worked out, except the last one. After a couple weeks they adopted me."

"Wow. Well, that was nice of them. But what family wouldn't want you?"

"I told you. It's complicated."

"Ok. Your turn."

"Hm. Do you even want to be part of your family business?"

"Uh. It's complicated. I guess yes and no."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, my whole life I couldn't wait until I became head of the company. Now the people in it are depending on me. And it's like I'm not making choices just for me anymore. And even though I haven't started, I've already lost myself." His face grew sad.

"Well if you've lost yourself that fast, and you haven't even tooken the job yet. Don't take it. Tell your parents you don't want it."

"It's not that easy. I have to. It's like my inheritance."

"Everyone has a choice."

"Just forget it. You wouldn't understand."

"What because I'm new, I'm a girl, I don't have my birth parents, and I don't know what it be like to actually have an inheritance?"

"No! Because you're not like me!!" When he yelled that I thought I heard a growl. His expression went from anger to ashamed and apologetic. He looked down.

"Whatever! You can leave now, I'll find the office on my own!" I took my bag from him, and started to walk away. And he wasn't following.

"Selene?" I didn't stop walking. "Wait?!"

"Why should I?"
