"Good point. But I have one of my own. How else am I supposed to get to know you personally?"

"It's called being a friend and hanging out." I shot my hands down in frustration and started walking off. What I said had apparently shut him up or just got him deep thinking. Because he ran ahead of me, and the rest of the way to class we were both in complete silence.

When we had walked into the classroom, he had left me and automatically went to his seat in the back of the room leaving me to deal with the teacher alone.

"Can I help you?" the teacher asked, while tapping her toe showing two things. That she was tempered and impatient.

"Um, yea. Sorry. I'm the new student." She walked over to her desk which was only a few feet from her, and started go through papers looking for something.

"Name?"

"What?" She looked up at me.

"Name? What's your name?"

"Oh. Sorry. Um, -"

"Do you really need to think about it? Seriously, it's a simple thing. Look. I am Mrs. McCrowly. Hm. Simple enough for a simple minded little girl, yes?"

"Yea. I'm Selene Blac- Vander."

"Are you sure? Because you don't seem sure of yourself."

"I'm sure." That's it I'd had enough of this snuck up witch.

"Ok. Well sense the only seat left is in the back by my student aid and you're not gonna pass anyways, go take your seat in the back." That's it. I'm just gonna play dumb but pass this class with an A to show her to be careful when she rights someone off as a certain type of person.

When I sat down, I could feel Jai staring at me. I resisted look back. I knew if I would and found I was right, that I would feel that heat of my cheeks. Which I really didn't like.

There was someone only a few desks away from him staring at me as well. And in only a matter of minutes she was the only one. McCrowly had sent Jai on a delivery.

Even though I tried as hard as I could to ignore her stare, it had to begun to bug me. I looked at her with an annoyed look.

'What?!' I mouthed to her. That's when she looked away.

Almost half an hour passed until Jai was back. But when he was, he looked like he had been slaped.

I tapped his tesk with my pencil once to get his attention. And I did. But instead of that look he had been giving me, this look was ashamed and sorrow. His eyes looked sad and cold.

"What happened? Are you ok?"

"What do you mean?" All I had to do was search his face, and then it registered. He put his fingers to the red hand mark on his cheek. "Oh, this. It's nothing. I just ran into another student on my way here. He didn't take it as coolly as you did." He was trying to joke around. But something was off.

He said 'he'. If it was a guy he would've gotten punched not slapped. And you could see nail markings. It was back handed. And way to small to be a guys hand.
